what's going on everybody? I just got my MM out of the body shop after enduring some major hail damage. I got it resprayed the same color with some "ghost" stripes coming off the hood. Here's a few snapshots of it. Let me know what you think of it....(Xcuse the dirty wheels, I'll clean them later today)

I can dig it :up: DTR's do look sharp when all shiney. Those ghost stripes really ARE ghostly, can't even see them in every pic. Either that or my comp sucks.

Yea you have to catch it at the right angle. I didn't want to take too much away from the stock look. I got a little bit of overspray on my tailpipes. Any suggestions on removing it? I plan to get some delete tips so I'm not sweating it too much.

Nail polish remover, takes paint off anything.

I would take it back and have them fix the ledge from the tape/clear.

sfor some reason the DTR paint looks al little more lighter but maybe the paint just has to settle in.

I'll try and get some better pictures showing the ghost stripes. They are hard to see. As a matter of fact, I still haven't noticed the stripe on top of the rocker :o that's if it exists. Maybe the night will give me a better glimpse of them. Also The paint has some red ice flakes in it to bring out the metallic a little more that may be why it looks a tad bit brighter.

I've always liked NEW DTR's and this one is sweet. Nice shine!

I'm sure a good cut and buff would remove that.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I'll take them into consideration. Here's some more pics showing the ghost stripes since some cannot see them very well. You probably can't tell but the stripes goes down the fender emblem and curves just below the body molding and goes all the way to the end of the rear doors...

I wonder if they taped it and used a tape glue remover that may have removed any wax you had or they had on it.
It could be that if you re-wax it it will all be good again.
I was wondering too. Ill await the response!

I would not be happy with them not burying the edge of the stripe, I would want that sanded and re cleared if it can't be buffed, that will jump out to car nuts

You gotta love brand new shiny DTR but, then, I a little biased.
Beautiful car.

I don't know about that tape from the stripe but I'll make it my business to get that checked out. It doesn't bother me much though:loco: since the stripe is barely visible...

Yeah but the sharp edge makes it look like you clearcoated over a vinyl stripe....
Stripe = looks good
How the bodyshop applied the stripe = looks like crap
