View Full Version : Brian Sipe's Awesome 5.3 Marauder

These shots were taken on the 20th at the Atlanta Marauder's Breakfast. Brian's car with the Whipple is amazing. And watch out SSHS'ers. I hear Glen has it all figured out and with his Jason Adams installed goodies, will be a force to contend with in November.

Enjoy.

Thanks Donny, but my MM is no where near Brian's. He has one of the most powerful MMs in the country. He is running close to 700 HP. His car is a solid 10s runner.

The only way I would beat him is if he lifted too soon to avoid running under 11.5 (no roll cage) and I snuck by him. Nice compliment - thanks.

Who are your favorite MM runners for SSHS9??? My picks for - "You Got to Come to SSHS9" and show us what you can do are -

Brian - 700 HP
Merc - 700 HP
Glassman - 700 HP
Tom - 700 HP
Marty - 700 HP (Yes, I what to see Marty's MM run again).
Too Many Fords - 700 HP
Pops - 700 HP

Notice anything similar in the above cars! It would be great to see all of these MMs run at SSHS9 and put it to the Impalas - What say you!!!

5.3... Did you put in a 5300 vortec? :D

How come you didnt move the intake to the pass side and put the battery in the trunk? I cant imagine the dryer hose being very good for airflow...

Is that the new 5.3L forged big bore stroker people have been talking about? That looks very impressive. I have over 450HP to the wheels...I can't even immagine what 700 feels like. Good luck, and have fun!!

I'm sure that if he could find a nice carbon fiber tube that exact bend, length, and diameter...He would have it on there. Looks like a very expesive custom intake tube is in order to finish it off nicely however.

Thanks for the compliments, Donny!

After breakfast I stopped by ModularPowerHouse in Cartersville. They had a Hemi Challenger they were working on, installing a Kenne Bell. That's what you need on your beauty!

I also saw Marty's Marauder there, it ought to be ready for SSHS9. He's shooting for the 9's!

Actually the hose is from Kenne Bell, it comes with their Mach1 kit. I'm waiting for a couple of things before I change it. If y'all notice, it has a reducer from the 4-1/2" MAF to the 4" tube and air filter. The flex tube isn't available in 4-1/2" yet, and the bell adapter for the air filter isn't either. Might free up another 20-30 hp (as if I need it).

And I don't want to move the battery, especially to the trunk. I haul too much stuff back there and don't want to waste the space.

First step will be mandrel bent aluminum, then get a carbon fiber copy made.

5.3... Did you put in a 5300 vortec? :D

Actually I searched all over to find some 5.3 Vortec emblems, ended up having to make a custom valve cover emblem.

It is the 5.3 big bore stroker, forged crank & pistons, billet rods. All of it cryo treated. Ought to not break. Cast iron Boss5.0 big bore block. 700 is ridiculous.

Damn, I just got the Trilogy and it's fun but, but, but it's never enough, is it? I mean 700 is awesome but, what about 750, then maybe 800. Is the limiting factor simply traction?

I've got blower envy, again. VERY nice work Brian.

Let me say without question Brian has spent a of time and money on his car. It came out great! I agree with Merc though, the track will show what the car will do. 5.3 vrs 4.6? My money is on the 4.6. But thats just me;). John Kuhn and John Nero are gong to be major players in the 10 second club this year as well. Only four there now. Earning that title does not come easy. The track will show the results. I'll be at SSHS9 WITH A 4.6 MARAUDER:D. It is all in fun. Marauders ruke!

TRANSMISSION would be my main concern with a car this powerful!

TRANSMISSION would be my main concern with a car this powerful!

My BC Automotive tranny has held up beyond my expectations with a C-16 race tune, 150 shot making 780 RWHP. If it built right it will hold up under these power levels,no problem.

I converted the stock Coolant reservoir into the SC reservoir.

HP will probably be around 600ish, since its just a stock Terminator Engine.

Doubt I will be at SSHS9, the thrill was gone for me years ago.
I still have the car because I have seperation anxiety, thats the only reason.

The car pissed me off looooong ago and I never really found the love after that.

No joke.

WOW! Brian you are over the top! I've been following the evolution of your MM for several years. You usually take the path less (or never) travelled in modifications. Really cool. Zack's ride has some very unique engineering as well. I hope i get to see all the cars on the Bad Boy MM list. I might make the shootout this year. Moving and the new job has not left me much spare time but I hope to get more involved with the group next year. Meanwhile, I'll keep enjoying my Trilogized Marauder being content with faster than most but slower than some.

Zack,

Nice setup. what kind of clearance issue did you have with the hood? I know the for the Whipple kit for GT500 they come with mounting spacers to drop the motor. I'd like to keep the hood as is but...that Whipple 3.4 is nice.
