I just paid off all of my parking tickets and times are tight. I need new rear tires badly so what are the cheapest that will fit?
I'm guessing something Japanese???
I need some light on this one.
Thanks!

285s on a stock wheel falls under "not recommended" category. Does he have widened wheels?

+1, got two 255/55-18's for 101 each, on my front porch in less than 24 hours. These will probably last a while, they do not break loose like the ol' BFG's did when stomping it from a dead stop.

Some of us here who ride on tires that are not recommended for stock sized wheels are alive and kicking not matter what anyone else says.
Hankook Ventus RH06 in 295/45-18 $161.33. I have them and I'll get them again

Still doesn't mean it's a good idea. I have done some pretty dumb things and am still alive but wouldn't recommend others do the same.

Now that right thar is quote-worthy. That could be the title to my life story.

As long as one does not autocross or drag race and keeps them at 40 pounds with nitro, you'll have no problems.
Then there are times we agree to disagree.

Ahemm..
I auto-cross 2 events with 285/50/18's on stock wheels. Didn't have a problem and took 1st place in one of those events.

i have had a WONDERFUL experience with a company called NEXEN.... i put these (a little larger then stock... dont remember the exact dimensions) for 97$ a piece... these were rated 460 treadwear tires... and ive done quite a bit of "burnin rubber" and they dont look very worn at all.... nice comfortable ride also...
im thinking about putting the same oversized tire on the front, or whaever nexen makes maybe one size smaller (to keep that small large thing going)
but... depends on if i have a job.... times are tough :)
SLOW DOWN DOM!!!
Listen to me  :D

I know another member with Nexxens...they are about the cheapest you can find...UNLESS you go used...sometimes you can find a few good used tires with plenty tread left. :twocents:

Anyone have a complete front and rear tire choice(keeping the same, or close to stock F & R ratio) without going to a 255/55 that is cheap?
