start with a side note. thanks for everyone on this sites help with all my "dumb questions". ok first is there anyway to adjust my alignment my self? it seems like the passenger front tire is turned towards the outside. i took it in and the align still is like that. is there a few bolts or screws i could turn to adjust this?

Second.....does the rear end have shocks and airbags? and how hard are these to replace? my passenger rear side doesnt lift up at all so the car looks raked on the driver side and not the passenger......

for a 7700 dollar i aint complaning bout these little problems but i would like to fix them before they become huge thanks for any help given

I would'nt try to align the car myself and yes we have both airbags and shocks on the rear. There are a few sites offering airbags for our cars this is one http://arnottinc.com/part_MERCURY_Air_Suspension_Pa rts_yid3_pid20.html Probably better to change both sides in your case.

You can have the toe set to zero and it still shows outward. The front end dimensions tend to make the illusion that the toe is still out when it is not.

Hope this helps.

Yes you can do just as accurate an alignment at home as at a shop, but if you have to ask, then you're not going to be able to do it the first time without a lot of trial and error.

I do my own alignments the same way nascar does. First get camber and caster set right using home made float plates (linoleum tiles w/ grease in beteween) and a digital level (referenced from the floor of course to account for non level serfaces). Once camber and caster are set, string the car for toe. Create two strings parallel to the centerline of the car and the same distance apart at the front and the rear of the car. Scribe centerlines on the tires (I use a sharpened 12d nail hammered through a 2x4 at a 45 degree angle and spin each tire w/ the car lifted slightly)

I can then do a proper 4 wheel alignment on IRS cars, or a thrust angle alignment for cars like the MM with a non adjustable rear suspension.

Very accurate but very slow to set up.
