 Whenever I park the Marauder and depress my emergency brake its really hard to depress. No trouble releasing when I pull the brake release after I start the car. My mechanic lubricated the brake cable but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone ever have this problem? Any suggestions as to what's the problem is and how to fix it?

Don't think so. Have 114 K on car and still have original brakes with plenty left. I do a lot of turnpike driving.

Maybe the rear Parking brake shoes are not functioning -- thye are basically just old style mini-drum shoes. Just replaced mine in March this year with 59K on the odo -- mechanic showed them to me -- they just fell apart -- unbonded themselves. Very expensive.

There is a pivot point to the cable system inside rear drums that seizes up over time and due to lack of use. It is a lot easier to r&r the axle and remove the backing plate to clean and lube the whole assem. The part that is frozen is on the lower part of the backing plate and sometimes requires heat or replacement to repair.
