Guys I have real bad news. My car is gone. A few weeks back I was lucky but this time different situation but no luck! We had a flood warning in the area and I was coming from my cousin's wedding. The roads were badly flooded! I started noticing that water was getting deeper and saw up ahead that their was a lot of cars stalled with their emergency lights on. As I decided to go into the local grocery store's parking lot cause their was no water, the motor turned-off. When I started the MM again, I heard the noise inside the engine from all the metal grinding against each other. My oil pressure gauge was at zero and thats when i realized my car was gone for good. Just right now I got a call from the dealership and they confirmed my toughts to be correct. Water went into the motor thru where the air flows to the motor and thats that. Now, the warranties r voided cause water went into the motor so I am waiting on the insurance to z if they r going to help me or if I have to pay for the $7000 that the motors in our cars cost. I feel like somebody in my family just died. I am in mourning right now! My Marauder looks to be dead for a while.
:depress:  :bigcry:
So sorry #1 hope everything works out. What did your insurance company say? If you got water on the inside of the car they may total it because of future damage from Mold? My son's girl friend had her car flooded and it was totaled for that reason, but it was a lot older car and worth only about $2,000 or $3,000.
:( :alone:
I'd be more then :bigcry: .
Is there a low air intake on this car and where is it?

sorry to hear about your missfortune.
if you do infact have to pay for your own engine replacement I want to point out that Dennis seems to have a crate engine for sale, for $7000 you can have a stage or two put on it before its shipped to Texas, you'll have a 13 second Marauder, much faster than the original was...
--Russ ;)
REALLY sorry to hear this. I lived in San Antonio for 5 years, travelled a BUNCH throughout the entire valley and I know how quick the water comes up down there.
Get in touch with 2 folks:
Dennis posted last week he had a complete Marauder Crate motor for like $4K
and,
Jinfla is still trying to sell the engine out of that wrecked Marauder he's been parting out.
Best of luck!

One thing I'm confused about...did you get any water inside the car? Tomd may have a point. If the situation got that bad, you may be faced with the more difficult decision of whether or not to scrap the car completely.
Not a decision I'd want to make, and I don't imagine you do either. Hate to be a downer here, but you may want to look at more than just the engine...
Sounds like a lousy situation to me. For what it's worth, I'm sorry to hear about it. Keep us apprised.

Wow, how deep was the water and where exactly did it enter the motor? Was it as high as your air filter?

Guys thanks for the comments. No the water did not go into my car cause I checked it but I'll make sure and check better. The bad thing is I was barely breaking in the motor. It had 7,325 miles and I purchased it in February of this year. I wanted to keep it in good shape but **** happens. Now, the water got to the point where it probably was at about or a little over half tire. When I saw that it was going to get deeper, that's when I decided to go to the parking lot of the grocery store but it was too late. My engine failed at that point. :bigcry: If it happens that I have to pay for the engine, with the luck that I have u never know, jerseyvics said Dennis had a crate engine available. Does he still have it and if he does for how much? Logan I think u pointed out to me about a motor in yur post I'll check it out also. Guys thanks for the comments and any help on getting a motor its gladly appreciated. I'll keep u guys informed of what happens so far no word from the insurance yet? Hopefully it will be good news! Thanks again.

Is there a lower air intake on the Marauder's?
A guy at my work also did the same thing in high water with his truck and found out the hard way that he did have a lower air intake.

For right now, the thing that bugs me a lot apart from loosing my baby and I do not know why is that I had washed and cleaned it very good. I even took 6 or 7 pics of the car cause I had not taken pics of it never since I purchased it. Then later that night the unfortunate happened. I guess for right now, that's all I will have of my car those pics and the spare keys.

I guess so cause from the air filter box I noticed it goes down and under to the front of the car. It has to get air from the bottom. Guys any answers to this questions on the air intake?

We see that at my shop often during the summer here in FL. Insurance covers it everytime. No worries.
Bright side: new motor at no cost (except deductible), no water inside car.
Bad side: no MM for a while.
Hope you get something decent for substitute transportation
Good luck #1 and keep us posted on the progress.

You should be able to rebuild the bottom end for way less than the dealer wants for a new engine.
If you were at low rpm it shouldn't have torn up any valve train pieces,"just" bent rods and a torn up crank.
If it was me I would call Larenzo Bros. in San Antonio,or Kotzer also up here.
Coast HP (CHP) has a new stroker kit including crank, rods ,pistons, bearins and rings for about $2900.See the latest 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords.
Just make sure you order a set of oil pump gears from Dennis.
I know a shop up here that can do the R&R.
Funny thing to me is you said the Oil Pressure went to zero and the engine was rattling, that says the engine was running without OP.If you hydro locked the motor you would have no warning it just stops,NOW.
Has the dealer torn the engine down?
You may not believe this but you may be able to pull all the plugs drain the oil, refill the oils and pump the water out by cranking the engine with the plugs out. Then install new plugs and head on down the road.
But the real question I have is why the zero OP while the engine was running?
Did you tell the dealer about the high water?

#1MarauderFan Sorry to hear about your misfortune. That type of incident is covered by insurance. I would recommend to go to the Pro Shop the insurance company suggests. The Ins. Co. will gurantee the repair. They usually have a list of shops for you to choose from.

Good News the Insurance Co. called me this afternoon and told me that they were going to send somebody to z the car. She assured me that the motor would be replaced completely with labor and everything paid in full. I was only going to pay a deductible of $50. I think my problem is solved. I am just waiting to get a call from the person that's going to go and z the car at the dealership. I hope everything runs smoothly from now on till I get my car back!

The air intake is directly behind the headlight, so also at that height...
#1MarauderFan , I really feel your pain , but I truely hope there is a pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow.

Glad to hear that you will be put back together. Just think how much better your car will be with a new engine.

Better yet. Take settlement, find good deal on motor, buy supercharger with savings... Yeah, that's the ticket. :)

You OR the car? Same thing dude!
Options:
Go for Reinhard stage 1.
Replace the motor with a crate or used (Logans suggestion) Sell the old motor to re-coup some costs.
Rebuild, stroke, make the motor stronger (forged internals), put the difference into suspension and brakes.
