I had a little bit of time so I decided to throw the wheels on to see their fit and make sure they'd clear everything.
Specs on the factory wheels that I mesaured are 18x8 with 6.625 (5/8ths) back spacing.
Specs on the FR500's are 18x9(inner lip mesurement) 10" (from edge to edge) Backspacing is also 6.625.
They cleared everything just fine, I did load that side of the suspension at the shock so it would go up higher and everything clears fine. As it should. didn't get a pick of it like that though.
My only concern is that the extra inch in the wheel is basicly to the outside. Is anyone else running a backspacing similar to this with the same width? Just wondering if the wheel coming out from the center at 2.375 Instead of 1.375 will be an issue?

See thats my issue to....
I just need to find out if anyone has ran them like this before. If not, I may sell them. I'm hoping that someone has, and the tire tucks up under the fender once the full weight is on it.
The one thing that is killer is they fit my fox REALLY well. But I'd want em either silver or chrome.

Honestly bro, depends on the brand of tire. I run 22x9 American Racing TXM with a +32 offset(made for 05-up mustangs) with similar backspacing and when I ran Kumho STX 265/35/22, the tire sat almost flush with the tire and wwith the weight on it was barely outside the front fender...I think maybe 1/4"....I changed to Goodyear Eagle GT and those are alot wider and I have about an 1" outside now.
---These are the wheels I am running....

And here is my baby...no suspension mods, fender liner still there, no rubbing....sorry for the crude phone pic but you can kinda tell the poke from it(it isn't as extreme as it looks....Its only a problem on big dips and the large sped bumps here in Kuwait

Wow that looks awesome!
Can you get a pic from above looking down at the fender. I'm curious to see how it sticks out.

OMG YOUR CHANGING THE STOCK RIMS!!!?!?!?!? YOU MONSTER!!!! I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL FOR TOUCHING THAT PERFECT CAR!!!!
So what kind of tires do you have in mind for the FR 500's if you keep em?

I'll carry over the 255/55/18 420's I have now for the rear. Fronts will likely be a cheapo 255/45/18. I found some for 169 a pair shipped.
After they wear out, 255/45/18 and 265/50/18 OR 295/45/18 Nitto 555's if I get the balls to spend the money.

Thanks:beer:
I would suggest using Kumho tires as they don't run wider though. There is a guy here with Saleen wheels on his vic and it looks pretty good to me. Yea sure, if it isn't too dusty I will wash it and snap a couple to give you a better take....gonna be with my iPhone until my D5000 gets here

I like those FR500 wheels too. Problem is, state inspection here does not allow the wheel and tire to stick out past the fender unless you have fender flares. Fender flares look ok on a truck, but on a Marauder? The 80's Buick GNXs had fender flares. I really don't know if the wheels can be altered to fit under the fenders.

I've always felt that the Marauder is one of the few cars out there that came from the factory with the perfect rims for it.

Then the fronts would be 9" and back would be 10". That...would be perfect.

I 10000% agree this you. I love to drive slow in front of glass front businesses, just to watch them spin. They are sporty and big...but no so sporty or big it makes it look like trash...They are easy to clean and keep clean...WOOT!

I was speaking strictly in terms of appearance. To each his own, but I've seen too many people dare to be different with aftermarket rims, only to destroy the look of their Marauder, in my opinion. Some aftermarket wheels do look good, but I've yet to see any that upstage stock rims.

I do the same thing. I never get tired of looking at the rims when they are moving.
