I have nothing to offer. :banana:Oh, come on Barry. Do you still shoot with film? You've never converted from color to black and white? Never cropped without using an enlarger?

It's a digital world, get over it. Show me a pro that doesn't enhance their shots. . . . in some manner. Dodging and burning still exists, but in a digital environment.

I'm just messing with you, but you and I both know that shooting with a DSLR normally requires some post processing. Whether you shoot JPEG's or RAW, these beasts were designed to allow photographers to use their own creative skills in determining the final outcome of their work.

I really don't believe that you are using your camera as a point and shoot.

....and of course I am messing with you as well!

I love the layering ability of CS3, but that's about it.
Major changes to an image using post editing just means the individual needs to be more creative with settings and equipment use.

I toss hundreds of captures because of personal failure in settings.
I do however shoot bracket mode on nearly everything that I want to cover my butt on, and make sure I can keep later.

I will admit, I post process to sharpen and soften focus, add sunlight filters (it isn't sunny in Ohio very often lol), and to adjust/add/remove odd color casts when I cannot meter an image with a strong color range.

I will be honest will all of you right now....
I am a bit jealous of those whom learned to use CS3.
I own a chinese bootleg copy, but gave up on it ages ago.
Far too complicated for my needs.

I resorted to better glass and better image sensors. ;)

New updated just brightened ChanceMiguel,

Here is my latest edit. I have cropped and made numerous other adjustments. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to bring out the features in his face, while still looking natural. I wasn't happy with what I did last night, so this has been updated. :)

The main suggestion I have is the crop. With all of the water around him, I believe it looks better with him out of the center.

Sorry JOhn, but this doesnt lok natural to me... He is over pixelized on my screen.... I'm looking mostly just at his shoulders and shirt. They almost look oil painted to me. Just an observation. As a printer, I notice image quality a lot, I do agree with the crop however.... Im just not partial to the vividness of this shot.

:up:I can accept that. I probably got too carried away with the adjustments. It probably would have been better to just suggest the crop, instead of trying to do it with this size file anyway.

Nothing to be sorry about. I appreciate your honesty.

That's how we all learn.
