I bought some udp's from a fellow forum member. I wanted to verify these are the correct pulleys for my 04 Marauder (704-0004). I attempted to put them on last friday and was dissapointed when I discovered the guide bolt did not fit.

Whatcha mean guide bolt? 701-004 is correct for a Marauder. You should get a new crank bolt from ARP or FoMoCo. Should only be used once.
I have installed a set of underdrives before myself on a 4.6 2v
Rent a pulley puller for free at AutoZone. Kit will have an bolt for crank to use as a brace for stock balancer removal. You don't need the "guide bolt"

There is a longer crank bolt included with the Steeda kit to assist in starting the harmonic balancer on the crank.

I guess it comes with a guide bolt to start the new steeda crank pully. I've never had one of these before, you don't *have* to use it.
I installed the Steeda underdrive pulleys, this is a very easy modification to do to your Marauder. You'll need basic metric hand tools, a torque wrench, harmonic balancer puller, some high temp silicone gasket maker, Locktite and possibly an impact wrench. A helper may be required also. The following are some instructions to follow if you want to install these pulley on your MM. The instructions from Steeda are very good. As usual read all the instructions before you start any work.
The pulley set you get will be for 1996-2003 Mustangs. You will not use the alternator pulley. This kit includes a 12mm X 60mm bolt that is used to start the new balancer pulley onto the crankshaft. DO NOT TIGHTEN THIS BOLT IN THE CRANKSHAFT! It is used only to push the balancer on far enough for the factory bolt to reach, and then is removed. USE THE FACTORY BOLT TO HOLD THE BALANCER PULLEY IN PLACE. DAMAGE TO THE CRANKSHAFT MAY OCCUR IF THE INSTALLATION BOLT IS OVER-TIGHTENED!
NOTE: The kit came with a new balancer bolt which I used. I believe you can reuse the original bolt.
Raise the front of your Marauder. Use ramps or a jack & jackstands. NEVER GET UNDER A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY JACKSTANDS OR RAMPS. Se the parking brake. Put the transmission in park (P).
Remove the two top bolts for the radiator / fan shroud. Disconnect the fan connector and remove from the Marauder.
Loosen the water pump pulley bolts.
Remove the belt and water pump pulley.
Remove the inspection plug / cover from the transmission bellhousing. Use a 14mm wrench or pry bar to prevent the flexplate / torque converter from turning.
Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt either using an impact wrench or a breaker bar.
Remove the large washer inside the balancer.
Using the harmonic balancer puller, remove the harmonic balancer.
Apply a dab of the high temp silicone sealer to the keyway slot on the new balancer. Line up the keyway and install the balancer. Use the longer bolt and original washer to push the balancer onto the crankshaft. DON'T TIGHTEN THE BOLT ALL THE WAY. ONCE THE PULLEY IS ON FAR ENOUGH FOR THE FACTORY BOLT TO REACH, REMOVE THE LONGER BOLT AND INSTALL THE FACTORY BOLT AND WASHER. Torque the bolt using the factory specs or the following:
Step 1) Torque to 66 ft-lb.
Step 2) Loosen bolt one (1) full turn
Step 3) Torque to 37 ft-lb
Step 4) Tighten bolt additional 90 degrees
NOTE: This is where you'll need a helper to stop the torque converter from turning. Offer them a beer and promise them a ride in the MM when your finished.
Install the water pump underdrive pulley. Put the bolts on finger-tight. There is a right way and wrong way to install. Put the pulley on and look at it from the side. It should line up with the rest of the pulleys, if not reverse it.
NOTE: If the pulley doesn't fit you may have to sand or scrape off some of the powercoating.
Install the belt following the factory routing, then tighten the water pump pulley bolts. I used red Locktite on both the water pump bolts and balancer bolt.
Replace the transmission inspection cover and the radiator / fan shroud, remember to connect the fan connector. Remove the car from the ramps / jackstands.
Start the car and check that the belt is tracking properly.
That's it! Test drive. You'll notice quicker throttle response and the engine spins up faster. This is one of the cheapest and easiest mods to do your MM.
