Mine is still stock. Will upgradding the water pump make any difference?

Dom, the EMP/Stewart pump seems to be the "flavour of the month". I've also heard that the stock Cobra pump is much better than ours as well, and is a direct fit. Having more flow is good, and your car seems to run hot anyway.

I've heard less than complimentary things about Meziere's customer service, and having an electric pump on a car driven long distances just worries me. If electric pumps were all that, I would think at least ONE of the majors would use them, at least on something.

What is the failure rate...failure date of said pumps? One year...four years?

do the rear head cooling mod so you can get the fluid flowing out the back of the motor

I had the electric pump's for years, a side for a few blown fuses never had any major issues. I took the electric water pump out and put in a EMP Stewart . Reason being the electric when the fuse blows heats up the motor really fast and I didn't want to take any chances of possible engine damage. Now the electric does cool the best . But the EMP Stewart cools better than stock so for safety reason's I went with it.

Regardless, I won't trust an electric water pump that does not have a "manual over-ride".

more flow
Less heat
"Makes" 6 HP

Just did a mini write up. Link in my sig. I dunno about the flavor of the month. Who else besides me did it? (Summit has them in stock BTW)

I installed the EMP pump at 147K miles and could not see any difference from the OEM which was working just fine!!:shake: I now have 54K miles on the EMP pump and it is doing fine but I'd expect it to for the price!!

I would say it's a waste of $$$'s since the OEM pump is 1/3 the price!!

Last time I checked the electric pumps were rated for 2000 hrs of use.

I will get a stewart emp pump eventually. Just not in a rush to do it.

I'd install one if the OEM one ever fails.

The difference is slight but it IS there. The gain is about 6HP. That's what the performace aftermarket is about. Better part for more money. Read Blackend300'a writeup and Magindats (a pump expert) explanation again - I saw your posts in that very thread.
