My wife has a 2006 Ford Freestyle. About 1 year ago I purchased 4 new Goodyear Assurance TripleTred tires. Since they were installed they've become very noisy. Goodyear says it because the car is out of alignment and that caused the tires to cup. They've offered me a deal to replace them. My questions is, what if I mount these wheels/tires on my Marauder and spin them round and smooth? Will the wheels from the Freestyle fit my Marauder and will spinning them remove the cupping?

If they are already cupped to the point they are noisy (are they feather edged? people call different types of wear "cupping), they are just going to wear worse, and worse, and worse. The only way you could correct it if its really bad is to have the tires professionally shaved, but to true up a tire that wore really funny will probably take too much overall tread life off.

You could try running them on a car thats aligned properly and see what happens, but you might waste the cost to mount and balance if they continue to wear worse.

Lesson learned is, keep your cars aligned! Twice a year is not too often

Not too sure whether you are serious or not with this question. :dunno:

If the tires are cupped already, they are junk. Ditch them. That is what is causing the noise -- probably a high speed chatter from the tire bouncing down the road.

Putting '06 Freestyle wheels and tires on the MM. Most FWD Freestyles came with 17" wheels and P215/65R17 Continentals. The AWD had 18" P225/60R18 Pirelli's. Too narrow and too high an aspect ratio for the Marauder IMHO -- even if the lug pattern will even work at all. I think that the Freestyle wheel is narrower (7.5") and the bad tires may not even seal on the Marauder rims if you were looking a swapping tires to smoke 'em up.

Get the Freestyle aligned. Take the GoodYear deal and Buy some new shoes for it. And, keep your eye on tirewear and more cupping. Rotate the tires at every oil change (you can on the Freestyle).

BTW -- my wife has an '06 Freestyle Limited .... but no cupping.
