Is anybody thinking about working the King Tut Exhibit into their schedule of activities. If so .... what day & time? I am considering extending through Sunday and departing Monday unless I can work it into an already busy itinerary.

King Tut Exhibit >>>>>> http://www.kingtut.org/about_the_exhibition

Charlie, Mr. Man and I want to see that exhibit. We actually took 2 weeks off (9/26-10/11). Our plan is to leave for Iowa the Sat. before M7. Spend Sun. night through Wed am in Iowa then drive to Indy. We can stay over Sunday and even Mon. to see King Tut. Then we head to New Hampshire. Let's make a firm plan. Call or pm me.:)

We would like to see the King Tut exhibit also. Either fitting it in or maybe going on Sunday. But Sunday will depend on my work schedule that I won't know for sure until closer to the time.

We can't do Sunday or Monday but Friday afternoon would be OK. We plan on leaving after the Sunday breakfast. Don't let us influence your schedule though. We were not planning on going to the drag racing event so we were going to fill the time some other way.

Not sure that I understand what this ^^^^ means. Is the Hog Roast taking place somewhere else? I am still interested in the train. Will someone have the information for making reservations at the hotel or can it be posted here?

Who is in for the train ride?

The Hog Roast is taking place at the car show. We have two shelters at Forest Park so that will be our late lunch/early dinner. MM.Net is sponsoring the Hog Roast instead of the pizza dinner.

The train and pizza are separate tickets. More info here:

http://itm.org/events/pizza.htm

There are 3 pizza restaurants to choose from. Two of the restaurants offer buffets. The train leaves from the vicinity of the car show in Forest Park and goes to Tipton and back.

Reservations can be made by calling our visitor services manager at (317) 773 6000 or by calling the Museum gift shop at (317) 776 7887. The days and hours for both are listed to the left. Phone reservations close 53 hours prior to train departure. That is at noon on the Thursday prior to that train.

Departs Forest Park - 5:00 PM Departs Tipton - 7:30 PM Arrives Forest Park - 8:15 PM
Cost does NOT include dinner
(Train Ride Tickets include Museum Admission)

Adults - $16.00 Children 2-12 yrs - $10.00 under 2 yrs - Free

I am pretty sure that Bernie and I will be doing the train thing. We did a "Wine Train" along the Rhine in Germany ... that was a blast. This oughta be fun too.

A friend of mine is one of the engineers for the trains. I can see if he is going to be making this run. If he is, he would probably let anyone interested come up and check out the engine before it departs.

if you plan on taking the train and NOT eating at the picnic, please let Mary know. We need an accurate head count for the caterer

You need to make reservations here (even if you are just riding the train and not eating in Tipton.)

http://www.itm.org/events/pizza.htm

Be aware that travel time on the train is no more than 1/2 hour each way and there is a 2 hour layover in Tipton before the return trip.

Panther Racing was so up in the air because of their race schedule. With some going to the King Tut exhibit, we decided to pass on Panther Racing. Some can spend more time at the zoo or it's free time. It's hard not wanting to cram so much in that it allows too little time to do what we want to do.
