Muth LED turnsignal mirrors

I had always wanted these, even when I had the '98. A set came up for sale on CVN and I jumped on them.

Running the new power wires:

The hard part was tracking down non-textured mirror caps. Finally found a set off a '98 and had them professionally painted and clearcoated by a local bodyshop friend.

With some trim detailer, the replacement mirror housings looked as good as new:

Since the door panels had to be removed, I thought this would also be a good idea to install much nicer door pins and bezels.

I had the optional Muth mirrors on my Thunderbolt...i LOVED them.

It's too bad they're rediculously expensive new.

did you wire them to run as turn/brake, or only as turn?

I had mine as turn and brake, it took a bit to get used to them coming on with the brakes, but eventually i got used to it. I really loved them at night.

I used the online instructions and much to my surprise, they also illuminate with the brake lights.

I too am quickly getting accustomed to them as auxillary brake lights and look forward to seeing them in action at night.

With the car off but key on, turn the signal on. Left signal lights up the passenger side and vice versa lol but when the car is on and running Left signal lights up driver's side.

It's one of my mods on the to-do list just not at the top lol.

I have 255 Nittos up front and 295 Nittos on widened rear wheels.

Follow up: I finally drove the Maruder after dark lastnight. The LEDs are brilliant at night. So bright my friend following me in his '03 Terminator had to call me while driving to let me know.

They are pricey if purchased new, but I think they're worth the added warning to other motorists. That's my $0.02.
