AOL this morning ran a piece on "10 big losers". The Marauder was on the list.

I don't have a dog in this fight, since I am not a Marauder owner, but I was surprized that my TBird didn't make the list.

Why wasn't AOL on the list? ;)

The 1993 Cobra fell under the Mustang nameplate but sold in one year less than one year of Marauders and no-one considers the 1993 Cobra re-introduction a flop.

Even with the low sales we even got a not that they should not have stopped producing the car.

As stated many times before the problem was marketing and adverstising the Marauder.

I loved all but 3 on list of worst selling cars so what does that say about me?

Here is the AOL link.

The "Loser" title does not fit. :bs: :argue:

The MM wasn't like the Lincoln LT that some dealers gave away if you bought a Town Car. The MM sold well and has a great following. :bows::banana:

I think the excitement the prototype stirred up got the project green lighted but it was at a time Ford was making wholesale changes to stay alive. Dealerships were silently being closed, SVT was on the chopping block and gas prices were on their way up.

I think that the MM was turned out at the wrong time and may have had a limited release plan like the rereleased T-Bird.

Marketing and advertising is an easy scapegoat but face it, we are a special group of people that would want to drive such a gigantic, old fashioned platform with a high performance engine in it. People that wanted this car, knew what to look for, got it, and probably still own it. People like me (second owners of this car) wouldn't have bought it new anyway, let someone else take a huge $$$ hit, and bought the car still w/ low miles on it and now I'll hold onto it. So I don't know who else who didn't already buy the car first or second hand, would have been swayed by advertising. I think history ran its course and it is what it is. Hey at least Ford made the car and we got our hands on it, right?

What a steaming pile of you-know-what!:mad2: I liked virtually every car on that list. Owned a couple too.

Just because a car didn't sell well doesn't make it a "loser."

Pinto's sold like crazy and they were IMO crapola! Same with Vega/Monza.

That's what I'm talking about! The HHR, too. The Xerox repair guy uses one for a company vehicle here. Perfect use for one!

"its sales never met Ford Motor Co.'s expectations"
Anyone know what the sales expectations were? I always thought it was a planned limited production.

Relax people, they really didn't say anything bad about the car. The Car is cool, everyone that sees it loves it. Ford dropped the ball on marketing. AOL sucks, but sort of a different issue. So don't get all mad.
