I am looking into deleting the front bucket seats. I need some advise from anyone who has replaced their front buckets with race seats - say from Summit or Jeggs?? Any help on specific types or model numbers. Did you have to also replace the seat runners. How difficult was the involved work? Do you need to drill any new holes? http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif

Any help appreciated. I have some work to do on the MM with my heavy dance card.

Just get some 2003/2004 police seats, then swap out the elecric heavy bottom (60Lbs each I bet) for the manual tracks.

This way you save weight but still have nice leather seats, and you're not ruining your Marauder.

I don't know the guys name, but he was at the Louisville gathering. He had race buckets. Does anyone who was there know the guy? I think Embassy might know him, mebbe you could give him a shout?

babbage has a great idea. I can't see ruining a MM to save any more weight than losing the seat motors would save.

wouldnt really ruin it, unless you drilled new holes but that would just be retarted

Glenn

Covers are sold separately by Summit. There are several available. But, I'll only be in the seat for a short time so I will probably will not get them.

Yes, I'm going to swap them for the big runs. It shouldn't be that difficult. Should be good for at least 0.10 second.

they are about as comfy as laying on boulders.

I have Corbeau CR1's in my fox. They are extremely light and very comfy, i've done several 800+ mile road trips in them. Get some quality seats, not some POS ones.

Don't mind the tear, it was because I was previously a 300lb fat ass and rubbed on the sides. I put a new seat cover on now that I'm under 250 and all is well.

I would recommend the wide versions anyway for an MM. They are 2" wider than the normal ones.

They arn't cheap but they were worth the money considering the wear/tear on them and they still look new.

400 a seat and 100 each for the tracks specific for the car.

I've had them for 7 years, daily driven for 3. About 80k on them. Auto-x, cruising, lauching on slicks (even when I was 300lbs) a 1.6 60' didn't hurt them. They are REALLY light. Fully recline and lean forward. They're awesome.

Hey guys, were talking about a budget racer here - these seats are ONLY for the 1/4 mile big events not for driving. I'm talking $90 bucks here not $500. I trailer my MM to the big events not drive it.

Let me get this straight, I drive a 600+hp mustang 800 miles to an auto-x/drag/show event then drive it back. With no sound deadening, no back seats, loud ass stereo, auto-x suspension, and a roll cage with the door bars in.

But... You're going to trailer a 4500lb cruiser that rides like a cloud?

Those seats go in go karts, which is where i've seen em...

Vortech347 has the right idea with the corbeau's, you have a high quaility car, get some high quaility seats!

You're going to discover that those seats are not very comfortable for spending a lot of time behind the wheel.
Look into the Corbeau seat line.
I personally have the Corbeau Forza and am very happy with this seat in my street/strip racer.
Had the Baja seats that you have pictured and was not happy at all with the comfort.

130 pounds in reduction = .1 (Ha!) Never happen.

The stereo is weighty with subwoofer, rip out the A/C and the compressor for the RAS, delete the power steering pump and change belt routing.

Pull the dash and door panels too. THEN you'll get .1
