Now for my other dream, Paul Tracy wins the CART championchip, leaves CART (As Players can no longer be a sponsor) and signs up with BAR in F-1 to give Schumacher the thumping he needs :)

A guy can dream, can't he?

Yup.

Good news for local tourism and merchants. It's a "real big thing"(tm) around here, every year.

I'm with you on the Schumacher thumping... that boy needs some competition. I hear BAR's Honda sponsors are providing an asian driver to fill the gap left by Jacques' dismissal... however, word is (was) that Montoya was headed to replace Coulthard, so who will fill the resultant empty spot?

I heard about that on Windtunnel. The governemnt is going to supplement the F1 teams' loss of revenue due to taobacco advertisement restrictions. Amazing the things people (governments) do for the most technology advanced race series in the world!

BTW, Paul Tracey will surely win the CART series, but the next F1 champion will be Kimi Raikkonen, IMHO !

If Paul signs up with Bar, he won't be doing any thumping. I'm guessing that Ralf (Schumacher) will be out of his ride at BMW and that Paul might get that ride.

What ever happens. It sure was a close race this season.

GO SCHUMI !! 6-time record setting F1 World Championships!

Hey, 3TA!

Depends on what house I have next year! Let me know in a few months... we're seriously considering moving to a much calmer location than where we're at now. We don't plan on giving up any living space in the process, but you never know...

LaSalle isn't that bad is it? :) Thinking of the St. Hubert lifestyle? hehehe.
Yea, the new guy - Takuma Sato did pretty good. 6th I think. Equal to the best Jacques did all year long. Too bad Jacques didn't finish the year. I wonder what really happened there...things that make you go hmmmmmm.

No, not Lasalle (I wonder where you got that idea from?).

I'm in Kirkland (west end) and I'm seriously considering the north shore (you know, to complete the full circle... born in Anjou, teenage and 20s in Longueuil, married life in Kirkland, and now maybe Blainville). My brother is building there...

Sorry, I got the impression from a previous conversation you lived on the south island - LaSalle or Verdun...my bad.
Ahhh! If you're going clockwise, you'd end up in Lavalle or Bourassa :)
I've got family all over there - St. Hubert, Verdun, LaSalle, Outremont, Lavalle. Makes visiting family a pain!

Just north of Laval, actually.

You should let me know next time you're in town.

After years of seeing other folks posting pics of their cars on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (during the off season, of course), I finally managed to find my way onto the track and took some pics, last Sunday.

Damned if it wasn't super easy to get on there... I just kept taking a wrong turn all these years (or rather, not taking the right turn, and always ending up at the Casino instead!).

So, in between waves of roller bladers / skaters / skiers and cyclists, I managed to squeeze off a few interesting shots (well, I thought so... if anything, it was good practice with my Fuji S2).

Well, I didn't paint the wall at that location like a certain other Canadian driver tends to do (the corner where the "Bonjour Quebec" ad is usually sitting... Jacques did the good thing for our tourism industry by promptly stuffing his ride into the wall at that very corner, allowing viewers all across the world to sample this particular ad).

Photos were kept to the non-dynamic type... my kid was fast asleep in the back, so no hijinks on the track. Even the "dragstrip launch" pic isn't authentic, if you look closely enough... the tire marks do not match those that would be made by my tires, if you have a look at the pic of the nose of the car with the wheel turned). Gotta give me marks for creativity, no?

The photo shoot went well... the only excitement being an old crabby cyclist that seemed to take offense at having to manouver around my stopped car as I shot photos. A few carefully chosen french phrases put the old codger in his place...
(I mean, seriously, look at the amount of room around my car in the photos, and it's not like the corners are blind!)

You'd think, just once, he'd want to win at the track named for his father! :shake:

I figured the tour would be of the 'low speed' type. Very good photos! The thing that gave the fact that these were non-speed photos away was - no driver, so I thought you might be the photographer :)

Unless junior can reach the clutch from his car seat
