Has Anyone Ever Heard This One Before ?

:cool: A few weeks ago I took my son and his friend to a major league baseball game. When his friend got into my Marauder he said, "Wow, a Crown Victoria on Steroids." Never heard that one before. I'd be interested in any other names the Marauder has been given.

Very glorified, though. Ford had a lot of grille, trim, and bumper cover ugliness to get rid of the make the MM look as good as it does.

Had a buddy in Alabama tell me once at the track the following:
"A bunch of people were pointing and laughing at the "Gramp-mobile" as I was next in line for the burnout box. Their attention was caught down track as I made my way into the box. He said they nearly broke their necks swinging their heads back as I did my "John Force."
I've heard a lot of names through the years. Mostly starting as "you @#$%$#@" when they're opening their wallets. Most of the real car guys do know what it is though.

When I run into someone at a car show that just can't seem to catch on ... I have referred to it as a "Grand Marquis Super Sport". :D

At the Manassas Park High School show, a guy with a 5-6 year old boy walked past and the boy must have noticed the car and asked a question. His Dad said it was "... like a cop car". As they continued to walk away, I added "... but faster." The little boy just turned back toward me and smiled. :up:

The craziest thing i've ever heard? True story, when I first bought my MM in Dayton OH. A guy stopped me walking into Big Lots and says "nice car...crown vic?" I said no its a Marauder. No Bull!@#$, the guys jaw hit the ground and he said the phrase i'll never forget....." Dude!! I swear I just READ about one of those!". This was when i really realized that i had a rare piece of work. Most people say they saw a car like yours, or maybe even drove one. This is the 1st car i've had someone read about. BTW everything was still entirely factory, rims and all. didnt even have subwoofers.

My friend refers to mine as "a cop car, only better." When I was looking for a
Marauder, I went to a big Ford dealership to look at a 04' walked the lot for about
30 min. before the salesman asked a porter if he had seen the Marauder and he
said, "You mean the Grand Marquis with the big rims."
