I took a little trip 'up and down the river' yesterday on my new cycle.

Here's some of the pics I got.

Winona Minnesota as seen from Garvin Heights park.

Lake Winona in the foreground. Mississippi river and Wisconsin in the background.

Mississippi river and some backwaters. Like everything in Minnesota this time of year, it's under construction. Note the barges and trucks. The sign said something about better habitat for diving ducks. Millions of dollars spent providing habitat for birds that taste like mud. Go figure.

Here's the home of all those great Iowa jokes. Iowa.

Pikes Peak Iowa. Yep, named after Zebulon Pike. The same dude that named Pikes Peak Colorado.

Back in Minnesota and just 5 miles from home I get this. For the next 35 days I have a 13 mile gravel road detour with the Marauder. However it's still just 5 miles when I take the Suzuki.

Thanks! I've busted out 1,200 miles on it in just 5 weeks.

For the first time in almost five years I'm actually thinking about selling the Marauder. The cycle does everything I bought the Marauder to do; Turn chicks heads and get me places on nice days.

If only it had room for a bumper sticker.... :D

I don't know what happened but one picture does not want to expand correctly. I took them in a 1600x 1200 size (I think) with my extra crappy $150 Radio Shack camera.

I'll just blame Photobucket.

Aside from a couple drunk drivers that kept hitting the shoulder and throwing gravel at me, the trip was great. Oh and the bugs. Traveling along the Mississippi river is an excellent way to get thoroughly aquainted with all your favorite winged insects. :puke:

Lol! I do have room on the helmet... However, considering the issues I had getting back home from the Car Craft show with the one I have on my Marauder, I'll need a faster bike first. ;) :D

Maybe I'll post pics of that one day. It's been a while since I had a thread get locked.

We just went through May fly season. Neat little critters. They come out of the river once a year, mate and die. Snow plows come out to clean them up. River bridges have steel grid decks so they fall through and don't cause accidents. Driving on 6" of greasy, slimey, stinky dead bugs will do that.

Steve; My NEW bumper sticker is actually far worse than the 'Coulter in '08' one you seen. Lol! Even so, I gave away 5 of them at the Car Craft show when people asked where I got it.

Oldekid; If you paid $1,000,000.00 in taxes in just the last 10 years like I have, you'll be looking for one of my bumper stickers too.
