I recently installed a K & N CAI. The car runs and sounds great. I'm guessing the car would run a bit "leaner" with the additional air and was wondering if i need to make any tune changes so i don't hurt the engine.
Questions:
1) could the engine be damaged running "leaner"?
2) if so, do i need to make any changes to the tune or will the engine computer adjust the fuel to compensate?
thanks for your feedback

Yes, the engine can be damaged running lean
No you arent running lean
The CAI by itself does almost nothing to your car because the stock intake is so free flowing, but a tune will really help the CAI do its job

Do a ECU reset and the computer will compensate for the added air.

And before you ask... To do this, you pull a battery cable and leave it unhooked for 30 minutes.... I always pull the neg but some people like to pull the pos... Dont think it matters to much

Didn't you disconnect the battery while you installed the K&N? If you did the computer should've went into learn mode already and is compensating for the changes.

I always pull the neg but some people like to pull the pos... One should ALWAYS pull the negative cable first, and reinstall it last. That way there's no chance of accidentally shorting to ground and causing a spark which could potentially explode the battery. It happened to a friend of mine...fortunately, it just blew the filler caps off and cracked the top...no acid spilled. He knows better now.
