well since i put my headers on my car is loud and obnoxious with the aero 2525s it gives me a headach driving the dumb thing and is really unpleasnt to drive. its extremly raspy and id like some mufflers to quiet the noise a bit. and iders?

Get the ones I just got maganaflow 14" Stainless ones...they are quite on idle and give you a nice sound as you drive and a good rumble when you get into it..

Agreed ^^^^^^^^ Paul T Casey has them on his car with Kooks headers and they are pretty quiet until you get on it.

I have Edelbrock RPM's and they're ok. I'm going to try some Borlas soon, they're supposed to be a little quieter.

I have Flowmaster super 44's and they sound great. Still sleeps at a red light, but has a way way more aggresive sound once im even on the gas a little. i don't have headers and i still have my factory cats though. they dont really resonate inside either. I only get it slightly for about a 200 RMP range from about 13 to 1500. unless im creepin around at 15 or 20 MPH, i get no hum inside.

1. Swap back to the standard tips.
2. Switch to the Borla ProXS mufflers.
3. Do away with the x or h pipe and replace it with a 2-in, 2-out muffler.

With my setup, I never had a problem with drone. I've decided it's just too loud now, maybe it's an age thing (or too much bs from the passenger's seat). I'm changing mufflers to see if that helps. The Borlas are supposedly a little quieter than the Edelbrocks and several steps quieter than the Magnaflows.
My setup is high flow cats (1 per side), x-pipe (custom Bassani setup), Edelbrock RPM mufflers, standard tips. Pipes are 2-1/2" collectors, 2-1/2" pipe to the mufflers, standard 2-1/4" after the mufflers.
I just hope switching to the Borlas doesn't introduce drone.
What's wrong with loud & obnoxious??? :dunno:

Dave, do you still have the muffler weights? I understand they make a big difference with the drone if you had them removed.

I believe LocalBoy has a nice (3) muffler set up, he also has pictures to view.

Dave,
Another suggestion is extending your tips out 2 inches or so, helps cut down the drone in the cabin.

The quietest performance muffler I have ever run, that still flows extremely well, is the Hooker Aero chamber. They are also constructed of EXTREMELY thick plate steel welded casing. The casing thickness has a direct impact on how little the muffler will resonate inside.

Several of us have had personal conversations with the Father of the MM - Mr. Steve Babcock concerning the OEM muffler. His exact quote was the OEM muffler is a very good low restriction muffler. "You only lose 2-3 HP with the stock mufflers versus aftermarket ones." The key is to delete the rear cats with a hi-flow Cobra X-pipe, OEM muffler, 2 1/2 tail pipes to stock tips or delete tips. You will have NO cabin drone and a good low rumble at idle and noise at WOT. But, if you like noise then go at it.
