I won't be ready to buy until '05 and I was wondering if Mercury will still be making the Marauder in '05.

Sadly, no... Depending on when in 05 you'll buy may determin whether or not there'll be any left over.

What LML said...

There unequivocably, undeniably will be NO 05 Marauder. Possibly a leftover 04 or two, but don't bet your chickens on it. Dealers are being ALOT more conservative with their marauder orders for 04.

Steve Babcock, in Ennis, explained in detail exactly why their won't be a Marauder after 04. It has to do with FMC having to re-engineer the throttle linkage to a "drive by wire" set up on all the Panther platforms in 05. Since all the Panthers use the SOHC 4.6 except the Marauder Ford won't spend the time or money to do a "one off" so to speak

The new Mustang will be available, after all it's a much more exciting car than the Marauder. And it's so roomy and comfortable to drive. Not to mention when you drive a Mustang you feel like you are the only person on the road with one 'cause you never see another one around. That car has it all. :flamer:

in 05, the 4.6 sohc will get the 3 valve head like the 5.4 sohc 2004 ford truck. the 5.4 sohc 3 valve truck engine is rated at 300 hp & 365 tq. i guess the 4.6 will be approxitmately 275 hp, considering the 03 truck is 240 hp (4.6 sohc 2 valve), 260 hp (5.4 sohc 2 valve) and 300 hp (5.4 sohc 3 valve). gain of 40 hp for the 3 valve head on the 5.4 sohc - so a gain of 35 hp for the 4.6 over the 239 rating ?

According to my Dealer, Not one of the Dealers that had '03s ordered an '04. But I think we were limited up here to 500 units/year anyway. If they didn't sell close to the 500 Canadawide, why would they order more? I don't blame 'em.

My dealer just smiles at me politely and walks away when I bring up the subject of any future stock of '04 Marauders. ;)

My dealer still has 2 of 3 of the MMs ordered. Mine was #3.

I doubt he'll order an '04.

That is correct, there will no t a 2005 Marauder. It may return after 18 months with a 3 valve 4.6L and we will be ready, if you know what I mean!

They are selling Marauders in Michigan like Hot Cakes. Michigan has the largest population of Marauders anywhere. So, they are very popular here.

Hey, another Wisconsinite !

Hope to able to welcome you as an "owner" soon.

A local Dealership has their Demo left. It's been on their lot since Aug. 2002. It has about 5-6k miles on it. Just last week someone purchased a similar MM for $21k. Maybe that's an option for you.

Good luck and PM if you want more info!

I have to agree with Logan. Of the five local dealers there is only one 2004 in stock. I think you will probably have to order one in most cases. Some dealers thought the would make a killing on the 2003's so the ordered numerous only to have them lay on their lot, some for more than one year.:(

This SUCKS! I am pissed at Ford for giving up on it so soon. I guess I will order my 2004 Marauder later on this winter. I think a power increase would have brought more attention to the car. Say maybe 350-375 horsepower. Just my opinion.

That was REALLY funny! I laughed my butt off! I used to have a black 2000 Mustang. I would pull up to another black Mustang AT LEAST TWICE on the way to work EVERYDAY!

NBC, since Mustangs are kind of like belly buttons, you think Rich was being humourous?

Who cares about '05? I think we '03 owners ought to file a class action law suit making Ford upgrade ours to '04 specs or get off our butts about our mods??

Exactly why my '02 GT is on a used car lot and an '04 Marauder is in my garage.

I think they definitely would have sold more if they came out in a 2-door model and convertible. They wouldn't be able to keep 'em on the lot!

Just a bit too small and confining for me.

Love the style and concept (TLM)...wish they would have done the same for our MMs, but life goes on.
Maybe in its own way the Marauder will find fame in history.
Tough to be 'king of the hill' when so many macho machines are out prowling around town.

Luckily, most shoot-outs are confined to doing the 'stats'.
Hell, if I had a 'charged' horse Ford, I'd be making the big town every Friday/Saturday night. Not many guns can quell the 'stang', including some of the more sporty cars.

If the car were larger or I was smaller...I might have ordered that Centennial number. The car is quite formidable.
