So, what breed are they?

Yellow lab is the one, and my dog is the chocolate lab. They play with a Golden retriever who is also in the family but not in those pics - he tends to run ahead and stand in the back of the field just waiting for the ball :)

Here is our little lady.

This is Alley. She is a nine yr. old Maine Coon. When you aim a camera at her, she either gets up and moves, starts cleaning her butt, or turns away. :)

Thanks! The tighter dof at f1.8 is really fun when it comes out just right but definitely harder to control :) Luckily the practice is going to be fun

Marianne and I went on a nature walk yesterday and saw this huge mushroom along the trail.

We also passed a backyard that had FOUR bucks in it!
There was a 4 point, 6 point, 8 point, and a 10 point buck all calmly grazing next to each other.
When the rutting season comes they won't be hangin' around each other!
Their antlers were still covered in velvet and growing...so maybe there will be even more 'points' in the Fall...:dunno:
Picture quality is crappy because of the low light and telephoto shots, I didn't want to get too close to them and spook them.

They are from a trip to Hawaii that his son treated him to this past January. The first two were taken in Lahaina on Maui, and the last one is a picture of the man himself, UncleLar, taken by his son, at Pearl Harbor on Oahu, with the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri in the background.

I cannot resist but share this image from this evening.
Gage took the ice for THE FIRST TIME tonight in what appears to be a long term thing.

He has enjoyed hockey for two years now, but most recently expressed interest in learning to play. I signed him up for the winter league mini mites and tonight he hit the ice for skate practice.

Amazing...after 10 minutes he was flying around!
And falling.... A LOT! :D:P

I think he has found his niche.

He is anticipating rough play.
The neighbor kids won't play with him anymore. :o

I am personally waiting for that special kid to put him on his ass for once.
He is an instigator.
Never will be an enforcer and he knows it. Lightweight runs in the family.
Hopefully there will be some big guys on his team to set the other team straight and allow him to skate freely.

He just started reading the book 'The Code'.
It is the formally unwritten rules to Hockey.
Not growing up in Canada and skating since birth, he would never learn the code otherwise.

I wish him luck. :P
