Graduated now, so have time for a life again, and would enjoying showing off my '04 DTR, participating in shows or just meeting for a burger and a beer. I live in New Port Richey, so does another owner. I work in St Pete and wouldn't mind getting together with some other MM owner. We have a good crowd in the Tampa Bay Area that we could probably get together once a month or something.

We could always do Biff Burger or Quaker Steak.....

I'll talk to the other guy local in my town and will see who we can round up. This weekend he is helping me swap my Metcos from my old car to replace the ones on the new car.

Not sure of a good spot though. Lets think of a place we can meet, that will be easy to get to, maybe have a bite eat, and a libation.

Where North of Tampa? We have 2 owners I know of in Pasco.

I'm open to whenever, Friday nights, Saturday, or Sundays work for me. If it a ways away I'll have my 1 beer and be drinking water or pop the rest of the time. Dave just let me know the time and place if you got something in the works.

The more we can accommodate the better it will be. I like the Bradenton idea (but I wanna race). Even if we just rented a pavilion at a local area park for the day it would still be great time to get together with some other Marauder owners, look over our cars, eat some food, and have a good time together. Something of a pot luck Barbecue or along those lines.

I'm out in Mulberry, Not to jump this thread but if there is this many Marauders in the area, how come I was the only one at the Mustangs and Mustangs show at the Fantesy of flight last year. It is a all ford show.

Yes i go to tampa u guys come to gainsville. Great idea! Im still waiting on the driveshaft from dynotech, just did the j-mod and drained the converter and installed new tailhousing. Cant wait to feel how it drives ;)

I am back from a great Motorcycle trip to the Smokies!!!!! Ok, has anyone come up with a date and place? I have read the posts and this is getting to be a bigger than I expected. My suggestion is that we make it as simple as possible for the first meet. That is, hook up at a restaurant like hooters or wing house or Quaker steak, you get my drift. We all have things to do and commitments so we all can't make it every time. I live in the Apollo Beach, Ruskin area, right off I75 and US 41, so coming from Bradenton, Sarasota from the south is easy, from the north and west is easy, There is a Cherry's sports bar on 41 in Apollo Beach that hosts a car show every month. I think they would like another club to show up . Just a start, input is welcome. Vince

I think it would need to be somewhere more central. Apollo Beach is almost 2 hours away from me and I cannot justify 4 hours of driving just for a parking lot show at a restaurant. I feel blackbeauty2 on this, I just need something more than hanging out at a bar to get together. Plus I won't drink more than 1 beer if I am more than 5 minutes from my house. Even then I usually plan on taking a cab if I will have more than 1 or 2 libations.

If we could do this somewhere in the Tampa Bay area it woudl be okay as that is about an hour depending on where in Tampa it is and that would let anyone within the Tampa area have easy enough access with an hour or so max of driving. I think we will be able to get more people if we keep it somewhere more central for the Tampa area folks.

Have at it, I was just trying to bring some people together, drinking is optional. Not for a car show , not to drink and drive just a meet and greet. So anyone interested in a get together maybe the Tampa St. Pete, Clearwater area PM me. Hell this thing went as far as Gainesville, that's commitment!!!! I think Hooters in Brandon is good, right next to I-75. As far as NPR, I couldn't jusify driving that far either.

Just a helpful idea, Try too find a central location where it is about the middle of where everyone has to travel to be fair to everyone. Also Sundays during the day are good because most people are off that day or try a saturday early evening. Also if their is another car show going on in that area it makes it more interesting most times.

I'm looking into local events on Tampa Racing and trying a few people I know involved in clubs to see what some good locations are. I was thinking something near downtown Tampa or West Shore would be a good central area for the Tampa area. Brandon is also good but it would have to be a weekend and not a Friday night thing.

You could also send MarauderTJA ( Tom) , Carfixer ( Claude), TallBoy ( Chuck) or Smokie ( Javier) a pm and ask them for a few ideas. All of them have been in the Group for a long time and live in the general area your talking.

I cannot guarantee it. I won't be able to pull the headers until next week since I am going out of town tonight for my anniversary. I may just reinstall it for now to make sure crack doesn't spread and drive it for a few weeks before removing both and sending them out to be coated.

If I don't reinstall the one header it will depend on if one of the local shops in the Tampa area does the coating for me. I have left messages at 3 or 4 local area shops and have not gotten a response yet. Apparently they are so busy they cannot return calls or emails.

More than likely I will send them to Jet Hot or Moore Power coating and they both said about 1-2 week turn around. I will update it once I have the headers off and repaired.

I'm probably about 2-3 weeks out on the headers being fixed and reinstalled. Even if I can't make this one we will be doing more meets in the future. It looks like we have a pretty good crowd in the general area so I'm sure there will be plenty of time for us to get together.

We could always start a monthly style meet where we can get together have some food and BS for a bit. Plus once I think everyone gets rolling and we have some a couple meets down it will be much easier to figure thing out.

I also have 9 hot passes to the Quaker Steak and Lube in Pinellas Park. This is a 15% off lunch or dinner card and is good for one card per table. They are all good until 12/31/09 and if we did a meet up there I would be more than happy to share them.
I'm sure if we had a decent group of people coming I could call and talk to a manager and have him set part of the parking lot aside.
