Does anyone else have a noisy power steering pump?...mine makes that growling/whining noise that sounds like a really OLD pump, on cold mornings (35-40 degrees), and only when the steering wheel is being turned...seems to get better when it's warmer...

Mine is the same way. I assume that this is normal.

I wouldn't characterize mine as sounding like it's growling, but I can hear it working, yes. Even on not so cold days I can hear it running when cornering.

Mine is quiet, is warm down here, the guys that heard it so far seems to live much further north.

Heard ours whinning this morning (50*) as the wife backed out of the driveway. No this whine isn't normal. Back to the dealer. Power steering should be seen and not heard.

Hey RF,

I know P/s pumps will be noisy if low on fluid(looses boost too).I started the MM other morning @ 26degrees outside and did'nt hear anything abnormally loud.Sounds like a problen with P/S pump (a bearing)

Mine sounds like that when cold, and below 40 degrees. It goes away in a minute. I'm not going to fuss over it.
