Finally have a reason...

To cut off the second set of cats on my car! Was driving home from my National Guard weekend when I heard a metallic pinging. I slowed down and it stopped. Sped up and it started. Pulled over checked the fluids and everything seemed fine, no bits of metal in anything. Climebed underneath and checked everything. This is when I found the heat sheild on the passenger side second cat loose. I tapped on it and its fairly loose. So Darnit I guess they just have to go now. Now to find someone who will do it. Will an exhaust place cut them out without replacing them with new ones?

Even as owners doing it there is always a chance for a hefty fine if the DOT or registry of motor vehicles finds out about it so you might have a hard time finding a shop willing to take the chance.

Hey whats going on Hack? Mostly all the shops around here will do it, dont see why the wouldnt where you are. Also it doesnt bother anything as far as emissions testing.

I'm doing better. Beleive it or not I'm still sore as heck from surgury in October of last year. Still seeing the doctor about all that, he seems to think that some of the muscle they cut through to get to my guts isn't healing right and could have torn loose. Other than that peachy keano... How you been?

I'm still gonna check around on removing the cats...
