:bigcry: Again I drove through a really bad rainstorm and water got up under my coil covers. The seals seem ok but should I replace them? I'm getting tired of having to dry everything off.

Have you been putting a bead of black rtv sealer under the cover and on and around the connector before reinstalling the cover?

No I haven't but I would hope the seal would be enough? Is this what you do? Do you have any trouble removing the cover afterwards.

Check the gaskets, you may need to replace them. Place a dab of silicone sealer where the COP wires go thru the coil covers and cam covers.

My "dab" was more like a "wad." I'll bet the problem is back here though.

Yup. Even if the gaskets aren't bad, there may be a bit of a an unsealed gap on the back side of the covers, the silicone will do the trick.
How did you discover this problem? Did you just happen to look under the covers or did something lead you to suspect this?

The car would miss at idle. Even my wife noticed how bad it was running. I'll try adding some silicon to where the harness comes in.

I thought so too, till i looked under the passenger side cover back two spark plug cavities and found a mess of grit om the ledge and down in the hole plus rust on the plugs. Still trying to figure out how to get it all out without it going down the hole.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Yeh.....some of us only have one car and that excuse will only work once for work. Oh BTW here in Florida it rains every day during the "rainy season".
