Is this the "flag" that needs to be removed to obtain Carfixers alignment specs? If not, what is it.

Mine was aligned a long time ago and it doesn't have those retainers, so I'm going to vote yes.

Yep, that's it. When removed you will be able to do the camber adjustment.

Thanks for the help. I'm having my car aligned on Thurs.

Yes that is the flag that needs to be removed. A BFH and chisel should do the trick.

Use the updated specs.

Factory camber spec is -.5 degrees or- .75 degrees
Factory toe spec is -.15 degrees or- .20 degrees
(BTW, this info came from their website which is updated periodically and may differ from previously published material, such as cd's and paper manuals)
That means your alignment could have -1.25 degrees of camber and toe out of -.35 degrees and still be in the "green". This will wipe out the inside edges in <20K miles IMO.

All of the MM's I've aligned (about 10) had at least -1.0 degrees of camber and always toe out of -.10 degrees or more from the factory. That's why almost all MM's you see have excessive inside edge tire wear.

For best tire wear, here is what I use on all MM alignments:
Camber: -.3 to -.5 degrees.
Toe: Zero degrees.
Caster: 5-6.5 degrees positive with .3 degree lead on the right side.

*Camber can affect cornering feel. The more negative camber you have, the better it will handle corners. Most drivers will never feel the difference, especially on the street.

Has anyone here who autocrosses or road races come up with a 'track' spec alignment?

The stock alignment was pretty much what you want for the track. More negative camber and toe out for fast turn in.

My Marauder seams to wear on the front right outside. However, the car tracks straight. The driver's front shows even wear on the tire.
The tires have about 34000 miles on them.

You must be a Nascar fan....start making some left hand turns she'll even out.

If one tire shows more wear i'm guess you need to check some suspension parts out....I think I would have a lookeyloo just to be safe.

I used a air powered die grinder with a small cutoff wheel, you look at the flag and you will see there there is 3 little spot-weld looking parts that connect the flag to the camber bolt, they need to be severed to release the flag, then you can pop it off over the bolt head.

Blazen71- Where did you get your alignment done? Since I need new tires, I'd be willing to drive to Milw to get the CORRECT alignment done if you can recommend a place.

Thanks

Eric

You can go anywhere. Just have them align to Carfixers specs, which are above in post #6.

Thanks for the update specs, I'm going to see if my Ford tech friend can get this done for me soon.

I recently had an alignment done and the car still seems to be pulling to the right so I'm going to go back and have them take the flag off (if they will) and re align it, where exactly is the flag located front left, front right?is their only one ?
