I've already had issues with my LCM headlight relay in the past which brought me to this thread on CV.net. http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1159835&fpart=1 I ended up ordering the direct factory replacement relay and re-soldered it according to this image.

As you can see there are four relays on the board and the headlight relay is circled. Now I'm having the same exact issue again, but with my parking lights this time.:mad2: I already ordered another relay to fix it off the internet and I should get it in a few days. My only problem is there are three remaining relays and I don't know which one out of the remaining three controls the parking lights. Does anyone know which relay I should replace this time? Is there a diagram out there that can help me?:help:
Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mo?

You've already replaced Eenie...
I can prolly figure it out using the factory wiring manual, but hopefully someone will have the answer sooner.

Why not replace all four relays while you have things torn apart?

How much are the relays? Maybe just replace all three while you have it apart again?? Save you from doing this again....and again...

RocsMerc, are you sure the problem is with the LCM? The parking lights draw a lot less current than the headlights so I'd be surprised if it was the same problem.
The suggestions above are actually a good idea...the relays are less than $3.50 from Mouser Electronics, and replacing them is not that hard...certainly easier to do them all at once than to keep pulling the LCM out.

I'm pretty sure its a LCM relay because when you wack it, it works. Lol. As far as the load on the parking lamp relay, three years ago I modded the taillights so the bottom lens lights up. That was two extra lamps on each side. Also, it turn out the fog lamps run off the same relay.
Getting three relays sounds like a good idea except I already ordered just the one. (I probably should have waited.) To order two more now I will have to pay for shipping twice. The shipping is not that expensive, so if no one has an answer, I'll do just that. I'm going to give this a little more time for a diagram to pop up before I do that though.

Did you guys ever find out which relay controls the parking lights?

I believe it the same relay as the headlights.

BTW... replacing the OEM relay with the same relay is a waste of time. You will have the problem again!

So the same relay controls headlights and parking lights??

I believe so.

Wow! So that means the LCM repair I already did needs to be done again..?? So what do the other 3 relays control?

So the same relay controls headlights and parking lights??
The same type of relay controls the other light functions.
Since the headlights pull more current and is used alot, the headlight relay goes out first.
Since the relay has shown a failure mechanism, all of the relays will eventually fail.
Relays are switches and switches will eventually fail.
On my 68 mercury the relays are modular and replaceable,
That is why I liked the LCM repair with a plug-in relay for the Marauder.
At this time I would only replace the relay that is failing.
Do some electrical trouble shooting as necessary to figger out.
You know it is one of eenie meeny miney mo.

I believe it the same relay as the headlights.
I don't think this is correct. I ended up replacing all three remaining relays except the headlight one and that fixed the parking light issue for me.
I think the two of us might be the only ones to ever have this issue. I never did find out which relay did what. There's practicly no info out there on this topic.

Well if anyone experiences this issue again, I'll be willing to send out a fixed LCM for the LCM with the parking light problem.

Hey fastblack. Are u still willing to send me a fixed LCM for my malfunctioning parking light LCM?? I'm about give up on mine! My parking lights are a pain in my ass everytime I think I solved it they blink out on me again! This time I cut my wipers on and parking lights cut off and won't come back on. Oh yea and my wipers only work in the highest speed setting. The motor is new!!
