Sounds like a bad bearing noise. It sounds very angry. Seems to be running smooth. I've never heard a noise like that. I'm at a loss?

That is one sharp engine bay. Car sounds like it's ready for a fight, I like it. You can detect a slightly out of place sounds tho, like you said. This may sound goofy but have you ever seen those hand held kids toys that look like a vaccum cleaner hose and when you swing it around it makes a noise like a combination between a whistle and someone blowing into the top of a bottle for that foghorn sound? That's what it reminded me of. Still sounds mean as ****, tho.

It's sounds over modulated -- way over the db levels of the camera microphone (at about 26 seconds into it) I can say it sounds a different than mine. I'm not sure really if it's annoying though. Does it resonate at a certain RPM where you think it's too loud? Also it must sound different under load, get a clip driving it.

Your engine bay is just plain awesome. I should have went with PHP CAI and metco CF tube (probably about 3x as much $) Very very clean and nice.

Thanks for the compliments. Its louder when driving. I know its over modulating but it was basically just to show the howling hollow noise. At 60mph and 2K rpms with light throttle you hear it pulsing then if I push it up to 2500rpms its silent. At WOT it sounds like old school dual quads opening up. Real deep. I know its running right cause a 03 lightning couldnt hang from a roll of 60-125mph.:D.

The noise is plain irritating at low speeds and light throttle. Its just a hollow wind tunnel noise that echos. I may be padding the bottom this weekend or figuring something out to quiet it.

That PHP cost me about $250 almost 5 yrs ago and the CF tube I paid $200 used. Combine all that with my 62MM throttlebody,and intake spacer, Im going to hear all sorts of noise inside this hollow intake.

You're right it is loud reved up. That sound, if i'm not mistaken is coming from your alternater bearings resonating off the valley of the intake. You get a slightly less intrusive sound if you use a broom handle as a stethoscope against the frame of the alternater.

That sounds like a plan. Only issue is heat, so I don't think you could use a "dynomat" type deal, might melt off or something.
Maybe some on the firewall would help with interior noise?

I'd figure that CBT hit it, it's almost like blowing across the top of a bottle.

You posted before that you have no leaks, so I'm going with the airflow. But it does sound nasty.

For the heck of it, try putting it back on and see if the noise is gone or quiet down some.

Wow I can definitely hear the wind tunnel noise and that is really really annoying. That is not a performance sound! I have an aftermarket EFI intake on another car that does that to a much lesser degree. I hope you figure out how to quiet it
