Who has run test and tune at MIR? Quick questions

I live about 20 minutes from MIR but haven't gotten my lazy ass out there yet for a test and tune. I might bring my Firebird out there this friday night if its ready. This car will probably be running low 13s on the crap street tires that are on it right now. Will I need a helmet? How thorough are tech inspections? I used to run at tracks in NJ and they required a helmet regardless of ET but they would rent you the helmets if you didn't have one. For tech all they checked was that you had a coolant overflow tank and that you had a battery hold down, that's it.

Anyone who has run at MIR with just a street car, not something that had to pass tech for something really fast, please let me know what to expect

Tech inspections at MIR is usually pretty poor on test n tune nights. Helmets can be rented but not required in your class. Overflow tanks and that type of stuff is usually overlooked. I would remove the anti-freeze. That type of track clean up takes time.
