Okay, I have a 2004 Grandma Marquis LS Ultimate with the "Dual-Media" radio head unit, steering wheel controls and trunk-mounted CD changer. I came into a Marauder trunk-mount woofer and amplifier for the taking, so I did. I should have tried to get the head unit, too, but I thought my existing one would work.
Now, I've learned that my factory radio head unit, even though it's the same model as the Marauder's, it won't "support" the rear amplifier and woofer speaker. I've checked the factory wiring, and it's all there, and active; there's even the proper plug buried in the trunk for the Marauder amp to connect to the factory wiring.
My advice was:
Run the "walk-around" test, and watch for the radio read-out to show "SUB 1" or "SUBWOOFER 1" after the regular four speaker walk-around display if it supports the rear amp & woofer speaker.Well, it didn't show anything after the 4-speaker test. How can I get my radio to work with the Marauder woofer/amplifier, short of buying a new radio head unit? Is there some sort of update or change I can do to make it recognize the rear amp?
Thanks for the help, gentlepeople!
