My service port has been dead for about three years (Since I programmed the computer with my X-Cal), I have checked all fuses and there is nothing blown. I have also had an intermittent starting issue that has been ongoing for the same amount of time. Anyone else had the service port go dead, it has zero power to the port.

Usually happens after about 10 years of marriage.....

Do you mean the OBDII port?

If so, never heard of that.

Agree....

Yes the OBDII port is dead, can't get my XCal, XCal2 or a Snap-On Scanner to work. Someone on here told me to check the 30A fuse in location 105 under the hood, but everything is ok there. I have had a check engine light for the same amount of time and have no way to read the code.

Is your ECU dead?

Don't think so, when the car starts it runs normal.

would the car even run with a dead computer?

yeah I think you'd get a solid CEL and it would still run at some default limp home mode

does your cigar lighter/power point work? if not, then its a fuse. if it does work then its most likely a wiring issue.

check for grounds at pins 4 and 5 check for power at pin 16 and pins 7 and 15 should have voltage flucuating from 0.2v to 8.0 volts if thoes dont have power ohm out the wires to the ecm if there good then your ecm is not sending the signal and the ecm is bad. check all of you fuses sometimes there is another fuse the will run the voltage to pin 16

Its possible that the part of the ECU (maybe as simple as the pin on the connector) that transmits the DTC is bad but everything else is working properly. But I would say theres a better chance that its a wiring issue between the ECU and the port.

power port in console has it's own 20A mini fuse under the hood #1 or #2 just had to replace mine.

If the problem started when you programmed the ECU, and you have had CEL's, did the program load?

Certainly wiring could be the problem but I would suspect hardware first, ECU or maybe a bent pin on the OBDII port.
