I am looking for one new or nearly new 235/50/18 BFG KDWs front tire. It must have a DOT date code of 2005 or newer. I have burned up my front new KDWs pretty badly in 15,000 miles (car is aligned to my specs but I just corner aggressively on country roads out here so fronts don't last long) and my spare has a near- new 2005 dat coded KDWs that I put on there. My spare measures 9.5/32 tread depth and I think new is 10/32 so I can't use a used tire that has too much less tread than this. I know its a long shot but I paid $65/each for these KDWs brand new when I bought them a few years back and now they are $165 each and I am having a hard time stomaching that for a tire that will only last me another 15k miles.

If it weren't for the date code, I'd have a pair.

Spectra how far off are your date codes? These tires get really hard as they get older. I have some 02 date coded KDWs that still have quite a bit of tread on them but they are unuseably hard.

Doom, I don't daily drive my Marauder, so I guess there are enough vacation highway trips on the tires that not all of the driving is running the car through corners. I have 6 to 7/32" on the centers of the fronts left, but I am burning up the outside edges because I am not running enough negative camber for my cornering habits. I took my car from -1.2 deg camber (stock settings) to -0.3 camber both sides, with zero toe, to remedy the stock inner edge tire wear. Well, -0.3 camber went a little too far in the conservative direction. I am wearing the outsides with camber wear now, I probably should be running -0.5 to -0.7 camber for proper front tire wear. I will definitely make that adjustment before I ruin another set of front tires prematurely.

Fronts man, fronts! No matter how well aligned the car is if you push a 4200 lb car into corners the fronts will wear. For the first time in my history the Marauder is the best-handling car I own (having picked up the 04 Taurus SEL as my daily, which is very nice to drive but is one of the most sloppy cars in turns that I have driven in a long time -- good for my wife because it makes me drive slower) so I feel the need to push it through some back road turns every time I take it out.

I believe you. You need to put the 255/55/18s on the front too and you will be ridin high and you can hang out w/ the CV donks I see driving through Fort Washington every day on my way to work. Cept they be all rim and you be all rubber.

Heh no I don't need any more wheels, unless you are donating them to me. Yeah those tires are probably too old to mess with. Thanks though
