View Full Version : For Sale Brackets for Eaton Conversion (or KB, Whipple)

FordNut

SOLD

Fixing to put up the last set for sale. Anybody interested?

This will be for the alternator relocation bracket and SC tensioner bracket. I guess I'll include the SC coolant reservoir bracket too since it still hasn't sold.

With these brackets, the only major custom fab work to install a Cobra Eaton, Whipple, or Kenne Bell on the Marauder will be the coolant crossover tube. Of course, the Cobra conversion will put the throttle body on the passenger's side but there are at least 3 different solutions for this.

These brackets have been used on 3 conversions so far, so they are proven to work.

So here's a quick shot of the brackets. I even had mounting bolts and an idler pulley laying around from the prototyping work when I put mine together. Haven't decided what to price it at yet.

Not like these. He copied these but his are not welded together. Not nearly as rigid.

whoa whoa, did not mean to screw anything up!! just putting it out there for after you sell these if people are still looking for some!

Putting it out there after these sell would be fine, but tromping in on my for sale thread sux.

Funny story on the brackets.... Terry (tgortch) was one of the people who said they wanted a set when I first had these 4 sets made. When it came time to pay up, he backed out. Not really a big deal, I just sold his set to Zack. Then Zack sent him a set and he copied them, Zack didn't know about my previous experience or he probably wouldn't have done it, but oh well. Pics I've seen of his look like the spacers are not welded to the brackets, so I don't know if they are sturdy and rigid enough to hold out in long-term use. Mine are welded, very similar to the Trilogy brackets. Mine and 2 of Zacks sets have been in use for several miles and years. The 4th set I had made was spoken for when I had them made, but after holding on to them for well over a year I'm ready to give up and let them go. If Zack could have gotten committed buyers awhile back when he offered them, there are some improvements I would have made in future production runs. But alas, there were lots of tire kickers but no buyers.

Apparently the pics I had seen were pre-welding, so I stand corrected on that statement.

Dude....Do you go into a vendors section and tell folks someone else can get you the same product? No....same thing here :shake:

-Matt-

you should make another run brian, just have buyers put a deposit down or something.

FordNut
08-12-2009, 08:29 PM
That's what we tried to do, couldn't get enough commitments to get a volume discount at the machine shop. Onesy-twosey manufacturing costs too much. Setup time on the CNC machine is what costs the most. Stock feeds automatically, parts are machined automatically, just punch in how many to make when you set it up.

On the first run I put up all the front money and it was a pain to get it back since half of the buyers didn't follow through. And all I really wanted in the beginning was a set for myself, so I could put the Whipple 3.4 on my car.

The Trilogy intercooler reservoir bracket, mounts at the passsenger side hood hinge. Also a non-clutched alternator pulley is needed.

Thinking about putting them up on ebay. Perfect for a Mach1 conversion (or even '99-'01 Cobra SC upgrade), I'm thinking they ought to sell pretty easily.

Were the brackets still avalable or sold ? How many pre paid orders do you need to make another run ? What's the cost ?

FordNut
08-16-2009, 05:27 AM
They're still not sold, just a bunch of tire-kicking... Not worth the time & trouble to make more, it costs too much to have them made. Over a year ago, the machine shop wanted over $500 to make them onesy-twosey. Volume discount would have made it worthwhile but we couldn't get any commitments. Now there's a competitor so it's really not worthwhile because the hobbyist can always undercut the professional machine shop price, and everybody has gotten cost-conscious these days.

To me this sounds like a good idea. Once I have done all home work I may make the plung. Some one already taken their time fabed the nessary brackets needed for the installation for a quality but less expensive supercharger. A nice set up all said & done for a few grand. Sure would be nice if someone could put a full parts kit together ?

ImpalaSlayer
08-16-2009, 07:33 AM
Burt, im gathering parts now and i have about 70% of them. thus far ive only spent 1800 bucks. im guessing the rest of the stuff will cost me 600-700 bucks. best part, 90% of the parts are OEM ford parts.

It would mean a lot if some one could share a list of parts & part numbers for the Eaton M112 build ?

[QUOTE]It would mean a lot if some one could share a list of parts & part numbers for the Eaton M112 build ?/QUOTE]

You can find that info if you search this site and others, Zack did a heck of a write-up here, let me know if you can't find it and I will send you a Word dock I saved.

Brian, I'm surprised these haven't sold, I wanted a set a while ago but went a different (more expensive) direction. G/L with the sale, Mach 1 registry or SVTP would be a great place to sell 'em quick.

They didn't sell on ebay. About a dozen watchers, probably some snipers. I cancelled the auction with about 30 minutes to go. Getting lots of interest over at the Mach1 registry. Tired of playing games with people saying "I want this, I want that" then never coming through with payment.

First, who are you? Do you know any of the other members in your area? You're a new guy, I don't know you or your skills & ability. I will not sell these to someone who I don't believe will be able to do the rest of the mods required for the conversion.

Second, how about using some punctuation. I usually don't communicate with texters except to taunt them because they appear to be idiots due to their spelling and punctuation.

Thanks for the purchase, hope the installation goes as smoothly as the transaction went.
