i went yesterday to tune my mm in a dyno tune

but they told me u should change ur fuel pump because they r old

and if i dont they will make my car shift at 6000 rpm

what do you think is it important to change the fuel pump and what is the best

rpm to make my car shift :help:

If your tuner doesn't know these things, I wouldn't want him touching my Marauder or any of my cars! :shake:

Is there something wrong with the fuel pump? Or is it just "old"?

no it is just old

he said if it is old and the car shift over 6000 rpm the fuel pump will damage

that's pretty poor reasoning, if he came at you with something like "look, running this pump at full pressure can't be sustained up to beyond 6000rpm" or something to do with that and maybe the A/F ratio at 6000rpm and above, it might be believable, but seriously that souldn't have much to do with it.

If nothing else, get the person to be more specific or give a better answer than "old".

There has to be more to this story.

Waiting.

Tell him you'll just run it with a full tank all the time and that the pressure from all that fuel will help your little old fuel pump! :D

BTW, Less than 1/4 tank baffle prob related?

Damage what? My old fuel pump runs fine shifting at a bit higher rpm than 6K. Did this guy talk like you type? If so, run away fast.

Ooops, sorry. I see you are out of the States. The e-translator is probably hosing up your questions. Perhaps the tuner saw something on the A/fF graph.
