Greetings All......

I am new here and very interested in the above car!! I have had an awful time with the local dealer...wanted to sell me a 2003 model "sight unseen" with a healthy deposit and a signed deal!!??

Told him to TAKE A HIKE!!:flamer:

Lincoln Mercury Personal Consultants hooked me up with a dealer about 30 miles away who has an '03 black one I can drive!! Also, they will order the '04 Silver car for less than the '03....GO FIGURE??

I have had 6 Crown Vics since 1992 and have had great luck with each of them!! Currently have a 2000 Police Interceptor with over 200K miles and just had the rear end rebuilt....but that's all.

My only complaint about the Crown Vic is that it's UNDER POWERED!!! :help: I had heard that Ford was going to offer the CV with the Intech DOHC 4.6 but nothing yet so I guess the Marauder is the answer??

Comments, pointers, and suggestions as to how much a new 2004 car should sell for if special ordered??

Will not have another black car so silver seems to be the answer. :D

Thanks,
Cobrajack:cool:

Get the '04 silver Marauder--much faster than a Crown Vic. If you like Crown Vics, you'll LOVE the Marauder, and it's very pretty in silver (plus you won't see all the imperfections that you see in the often less-than-perfect black paint/clearcoat Marauder finishes!). Mercury made some improvements to the drivetrain to the '04s--highly recommended over the '03s in my opinion, ESPECIALLY if it's cheaper than the '03!!!

I go with the 04 sliver also. Black is great looking but what a pain in the butt to keep it nice looking!
YOU WILL LOVE this car!

There was talk about a CV "Blackhawk" sister to the "Marauder " but that was drop.

I have a silver '04 on order. Currently $4,000 cash to customer incentive on the Marauder. If you know someone you can find out others. I know the gen's mgr at the dealership where I'm purchasing and he found an "executive discount" as well. Depends if they really want to sell you one! Can't wait.

Cobrajack,
Welcome to this site. Logan does one H*ll of a job policing and moderating this site. It is one of the best all around sites I have found.
If you are ready to buy, don't forget the AARP $500 discount as well. You may also be entitled to another $500 Customer Loyalty Cash in addition to the standard rebate whatever it is right now.

Cobrajack-I forgot to mention X-plan pricing on the car. See if the dealer will give it to you in addition to the rebates or good financing. It's worth a shot if they are wanting to move inventory.

Well Boys & Girls......

I drove a black 2003 MM today and was surprised that it was not as nimble as I had expected!!

The dealership has had it a year and just about worn the paint washing it:rolleyes:. They have it priced at $27K and no takers....not even me but I don't want a black car ever again!! They are BEAUTIFUL for about 13 seconds after you wash them and too hot for me down here in SC!!:flamer:

I'm gonna let him know tomorrow whether or not to order one for me...BTW a 2004 silver 300A car will be < $30K with taxes and tag!!!?? Is that a good buy for this machine??

Thanks again!!

Under $30K- I would say that is a heck of a deal. That's better than I did with X plan and rebate (plus taxes of course). GO GET IT!

30K including taxes doesn't sound bad to me for a 2004.

That is odd, these cars handle very well.

Hey Guys....

I forgot to tell you I drove my Cobra replica with a 408W stroker over to the Ford dealership......soooooo I guess anything would have felt a little er...."unresponsive"??

Let's face it, this is a 4000# "CAR" with a 300HP engine....The Cobra is a 2600# "GO CART" with 500+HP!!!:D NO COMPARISON!!;)

The first thing I did notice was the distinctive exhaust note then the firm ride. It handled very well and accelerated onto the interstate well!! :)

I'm going to drive the Crown Vic over there today and give it a fair test drive.:coolman:

I think I will order it with the "Light Flint" interior.....What do you guys think?? The only other choice is "Dark Charcoal" like most of the black cars come with??

Thanks For All Your Input!!

I wouldnt say the marauder is alot faster than a crown vic. In some cases I wouldn't say they are faster at all. They are just different fast with more potential. I have run a 15.08 with my basically stock 02 LX sport with my only mods being a 255/55/17 series tire and posi. I raced a marauder out at moroso, and he ran within a 10th of my time I think we were both running 15.2s in 88 degree weather. I will say that the marauder is a bit better looking, and it does ride stiffer, which I like. If I had to do it over again, I would have taken the bus to school for about 6 months, or perhaps the whole school year, and then just bought a marauder. Especially since they are going for about the same price I bought my car for. Really it comes down to a matter of preferance. I own a vic, and I poke around this site all the time, so that should say something.

Hey Rich_Long...

Haven't heard much from you on the FordMuscle site!! How have you been??

I remember you were one of the first I knew of that had a MM.....It must be OK if you still have it??:D

Well......It's official now....I ordered the car just 2 hours ago and with current production they think it will be here in 4-6 weeks?? I sure hope so!!:D

I got the basic 300A car but left off the 6 CD intrunk gismo and the free front plate bracket!! Don't like or need the front plate...It looks better without it!! Also got the Light Flint interior.

I drove the black one again and let it fly without the salesman with me....I guess he trusted me since I was now officially a customer......It was pretty strong for a big car!!:coolman:

I'll keep you all posted as the weeks slowly roll by!!:)

"Marauderjack"...aka Cobrajack:D

Has a nice ring to it!
Ford Muscle kinda faded when i came over here, i also spend way too much time at
www.vintage-mustang.com
And yes, i love my MM, but after seeing all the mods on the cars at hershey, i'm gonna have to start 'keeping up wit the Jonse's"!
Glad you're in!

You do realise that your Crown Victoria running those times is unique? almost a full second faster than most.
The Marauder is definitely faster/quicker than a SOHC Crown Victoria, on all levels.

Cobrajack. Good move. You won't regret it.
So you ordered Black or silver?
