Was the charge fair or was I taken to the cleaners ? The air conditioner wasn't blowing through the vents. I brought it in th the local dealer. They found the vacum lines to be ok. Tested from the control head to individual control motors and found it all ok. Isolated the concern to be internal falure of the EATC module. The part was not in stock . Six days later the part came in . I made another appiontment . They had the part installed in less than fourty five min. The part had to be pre paid part #3W7Z-19980-AA at the cost of $649.00 . Then the balance of 242.72 for installation.

That's about what it costs at the dealer.
Want to sell the old EATC ?

It's at the dealer. No need for me to have kept it.

Other than the fact that it is repairable for less than $2.

Why do I have the feeling I shouldn't have asked this question.

It's not that you got ***** by this particular dealer's service dept, the price you paid is in the ball-part of what others have paid to have the same repairs done at the dealer. But there is a thread on here about replacing the o-rings in the EATC, which will fix the AC problems over 90% of the time. First time to do the removal may take 1/2 hour or more, first time to make the repairs may take a couple of hours to figure it out. Second time the removal/swap/test takes 15 minutes or so. Second time o-ring swap takes 1/2 hour to 1 hour.

So it would be nice to have the old unit to repair for a spare. If you can go back to the dealer and get it it's worth holding onto or selling to somebody who will repair it.

EATC module stands for what please? I assume its where all the vacume lines interface with the ac/ac controls.

There are a few places, I've gotten them from NAPA and Ace Hardware for the ones I've fixed. (5 counting my own)

its the same thing with the LCM. $800.00, but with a 'little help from our friends' here at MM.net it turns out to be a 3.98 fix.....
