As some of you have read before, A good freind of mine hooked up with a suspension fabricator to design control arms and watts links for CV's and Marauders. The design is a lightweight steel with a poly/delrin bushings which is better then rubber. The price is coming in a little over $300 for a set of control arms. Thats almost $140 savings over Metco arms and they will perform just as well.

Heres the pic of the prototype control arms before it gets its black powdercoating.

I don't remember if I asked, do these keep the stock pinion angle or do they modify it like some of the other arms did?

Stock pinion angle. My friend who is making these up also sells FMS performance parts. He will be a new vendor here in the very near future. Rumor has it there will be a group buy discount on the arms when they are produced.

Any pics of the watts link?

I've already got aftermarket control arms, but for the right price I'd pick up the watts piece.

OK heres what I was told. The point of these being produced was keeping costs down to a minimum. Thats why Black was the choice of color for the powdercoating. Now if you guys want to spend the extra money for a color, these are your options. Blue, Red, Silver, Orange, and Yellow. Silver being the most expensive because it has to be clear coated and looks almost like mirror chrome.
Those are your options, Once he becomes a vendor here then orders will be accepted by Paypal or credit card through paypal. He will have all the details once he gets his forum together.

On a side note, Hes not only a personal friend but he is on top of his business. He ships immediately and is very competitively priced.

Once everything is worked out, you guys will have to choose a single color for the arms. As of now, Black is the intended color.

You said in the first thread that the bushings are Delrin. Looks like poly bushings with a delrin sleeve, then a steel sleeve. Seems like a good idea to stop squeaking, interesting.

Hey guys I'm glad to see you like the arms. Watts bars have arrived thanks to Hagis!! and we may see a prototype middle of next week, it's going to take that long being they have to be bent. As for the arms, the ones Paul posted are them powdercoated silver. I got him to agree that if atleast 10 sets purchased he can make silver the base color at no extra cost for this initial order or else it will be black and if some of you opt for silver it can be done for extra fee I'm not sure how much yet. As for the price on the arms I don't want to get into detail yet as I have not recieved my bill to pay for vendor and I don't want to start on the wrong foot so when I'm official I'll post all details.

Thank again guys!!

^^ +1 ^^

Paul, can you go into a little more detail concerning the bushing material?
I've heard of 'Delrin' being used in lots of the Mustang control arm bushings.
Harder material, less deflection, yet allowing some compliance in the bushings.
How does 'Delrin' compare to Polyurethane as a bushing material....+ & -...?

Those arms look really nice!

You are correct. They are supposed to be very quiet and durable.

Delrin is a great materiel. It is resistant to chemicals, strong, easy to machine, will be stiffer than rubber or polyurethane, have a longer life, and generally doesn't need to be lubed. At least not in the applications we use it at my work. We use Delrin as bushings in hinges, as gears, as insulators, guides, fixtures, basically whatever needs a nice low friction surface.
If I didn't already have Metcos I would be all over these in the Silver Powder coat or bare.b would just order them and tell the wife when they showed up at her work.
