While Zack is hard at work with his grill mods (and s/c installs :D ) I got to thinking .... with all the mechanical mods available, what kind of body mods would people like to see?

you altered the look of your tail lights on your car(that was you, right?), but as for me, I like the way our cars look in the stock configuration. I think there are very good reasons for mechanical modifications since this car can and does accelerate soooooo much better when you add some of the aftermarket hi-perf parts that are available. However I think the MM looks great already the way it comes out of the factory. if I didn't think that, then I wouldn't have ppurchased it in the first place. IMO not very many cars that are being produced lately look all that nice right out of the factory unless you've paid atleast 80 or 90K for them(the Viper is a typical example), but how many of us can afford a car like that?:rolleyes: In the 60's the average working class Joe was able to afford a new car that not only had blazing acceleration right out of the showroom, but also looked great from every angle. but that has changed drastically. These day only the rich guys can afford that.
However IMO the Marauder is one of the few exceptions to that rule. it's not as fast out of the showroom as I think it should be, but it looks great!!!! I think that the only mod to the car's appearence that I'd ever consider is to change the grille and headlights to that of the Crown Vic's. But the problem w/that is that I believe the entire nose would have to be changed since the cutouts for the grille and headlamp assemblies are actually a different shape on our cars than that of the Crown Vic.

Yes, I have my tail lights blacked out, along with several others. I was inspired by Cruztaker.
I agree, this car looks great stock. IMO it could use just a little more. I like subtle things. Going badgeless is a good example. The only kind of ground effects or front spoiler I'd put on my MM would have to be very subtle. The kind where you'd have to really look to figure out why this car is different from the rest.

I would like to see someone customize a MM into a 2door..
That would be BA-D AS-S........
Wish they produced that prototype.

I would love a really cool hood! I need the room for my dream supercharger.

like an all-out blower that would stick out of the stock hood?

A shaker hood scoop like the current Mach 1 has;
Godshead badges in the grille and trunk;
Chrome gas cap like the Bullitt Mustang has.......

Leave the Marauder the way it is. IMO.

I like the 2 door idea and I really liked the looks of the convertible they made for one of the auto shows. I've always wanted a convertible.

that's pretty much my feeling as well. One of the things I've always liked about these cars is that they are stealth looking. No big gay lookin fancy letters across the side or anything like that. And when you make this car faster via mechanical modifications, it really becomes a sleeper. Something that you can surprise people with when you put your foot into it(especially the ricers). I think that if you go and put any hood scoop on it, then it would look like a kid's car instead of the class act that it is.If I wanted, hood scoops, two doors, racing stripes or something like that, then I would've opted for a sports car instead(Mustang, Camaro, or whatever). But that's my viewpoint, and eveyone is entitled to their own. I just always keep in mind that no matter how sporty or how fast you make these cars, they are still based on a LUXURY SEDAN.Otherwise why would I have purchased a 4100LB monster like this car is?????

one minor thing that I might end up changing are those clear turn signal/parking light lenses on the front. I dunno what possesed Mercury to use clear lenses while the bulbs are yellow anyway! It looks kinda tacky to me, and it reminds me of how the ricers install those clear tail light lenses on their cars:rolleyes: I didn't notice it until one night at dusk i was driving around w/just the parking lights on, and I left them on to run into a Pizza place to grab my order, and then when I walked back out of the place looking to admire my car as I'm walking up to it, I was embarrassed of what those things looked like! And w/out the headlights on they really stand out. Like I said, tacky(IMO).....

I personally like the way the Marauder is, "Stealthy" leave all the mods for under the hood.

That actually sounds pretty good. Keep it black, tho...The Mach's scoop isn't too noticeable until you get up close, and by that time,...Buh-Bye!:burnout:

Petrograde--YES--ALL OF 'EM!!!!
1. Chin splitter (front air dam)--I WANT ONE NOW! I'm probably just going to Xmas-tree in a Mach 1 chin splitter.
2. Cowl hood--definitely thinking of doing this mod--it's actually a functional mod as well--one more thing to make my Marauder "different!"
3. I DO want a honeycomb grille, and I'm gonna fit a Ford CVPI grille in there somehow if it kills me!
4. Aero panels would definitely be nice, but no one's gonna make 'em for a market this small unfortunately . . .
