If you install a sunroof in your 2003, I assume that you would be talking about a Webasto Hollianda series, given that......

The control panel that comes with that roof switches 12v+, the factory switch fro the factory roof switches grounds. Also, if you car had the small overhead but no sunroof, the mounting panel (that bolts to the roof) is different and will not accomodate the new panel with sunroofs switches.

Now the good news, the inside center panel with the switch unbolts from the outside section of the panel. This was the swap I did on my 05 LX Sport. Also, you will need several relays and some soldering skills, as you have to disassemble the switch assembly from the aftermarket control and solder wires to the outputs to control the relays.
