View Full Version : Marauder vs mustang 5.0

I was cruisin down telegraph when I passed a local hang out spot for some mustangs and other hot rods and of course I had to let them here the exhaust. I get about a mile down the road and up comes this blue and black 5.0. We hit a light a little ways up and I told him I was goin for it so we both spun for a good 10-15 feet and I had a half of car on him he inched his way up little by little by the time we stopped at 100mph we were right next to each other. He said his car runs 13.7 which made me happy since I now know I should be in the 13s since I haven't got to run it yet since the tc install, just waiting on some new nitto nt 420s.

Your car is sick, you got the exact same mods setup I would go with.

Nice run:banana2: I had Nitto 420's on my old Marauder. I thought they had too much sidewall flex for aggressive driving....... I had them about a month, and was trying to burn them out quickly, but the accident in my first Marauder saved me the trouble:mad2:. Not my fault(Just fyi lol:o)

So what 18" tire should I go with, does anybody make a 18" street radial tire??

I've had Nitto 420s with the same mods you have for over 3 years now and the car handles and launches fine.

Like we said before when you got your TC, Welcome to the 13's!

Good Question...... Btw Mine were 255/55's By way of full disclosure........ Fastblack says he runs Hancook Ventus rears, and says they hold up well..... I won't offer an opinion on something I have never ridden on, so I'll let others chime in. I like the BFG 255's KD 2's I had before the best, but they are no longer produced.:mad2:

I do like the Nitto's I have now on the widened rims, but those 420's (jmho) were terrible on my car. Good luck with whatever you finally decide on:beer:
