So, the battleship has 175,xxx miles on the chassis. 105,xxx of which are from Police service. She's on motor #2 (which had 130,xxx miles when I swaped it in...so it wasn't much of an improvement), and 75% done with the interior swap.
Items that need to be addressed: brakes, shocks, window regulator, intake (it still has the plastic crossover).
NEW items that need attention: shift linkage (my PRND21 selector is on the fritz), motor (I hear a rattle in the engine bay, I can't confirm where it's coming from, but I remember that noise from the previous motor, and that did not end well), catalytic converters.
What will I do? Keep in mind, I just bought a house, I need to pay for my wedding (happening spring of next year), and my fiancee wants whatever projects I currently have open DONE by the wedding. I would like to add "Ditch the battleship for an LX Sport" but those are hard to find around here.

I would LOVE to have a Marauder, but see above. My fiancee and I have to pay for our wedding out-of-pocket.
Typing all this out was kind of a way for me to vent. My car has been stressing me out quite a bit lately, and with everything else in my life that I have to stress about, I would just like the car out of the picture.

I voted for 'Fix everything that is wrong with the Battleship'
......That's because I am parting out a '95 GM and have the following:
Excellent condition 4.6 SOHC and transmission.
3.27 Traction-Lok rear
OEM 'BBS style' wheels and tires
Complete (less than 500 miles) front and rear brakes and new discs.
Complete grey leather interior
Doors with window regulators and glass
Complete grey trunk/trunk lid liner set.
Dual exhaust system.
Anything else on the GM except for the nose and front end sheetmetal.

I have a low mileage 32v Marauder engine........
Oh... I did not see "Don't get married." Or " Go to the JP and save some cash." options....
Think OUTSIDE the box!

It would seem to an olde sage that the real stress is all the demands being made on you by your fiancee to finish your projects. If you do not get this "fixed" your going to have a very stressful marriage. Her expectation is you will have NO more projects once you get married.
I made it real clear to my wife BEFORE we were married about my interest in cars. I explained everything about it and how it would not change once we were married. She accepted it and I have had no issues in 30 years. Just some helpful advice that I know will not be followed - but offered anyway. Good Luck.

GOOD luck with BOTH the "Battleship" & Project Ultimatum AND the Marriage -- as an Old Sage once told me; "Son, the Absolute Universal Truth of the matter is...IF it's got 'Tits or Tires' your GONNA HAVE PROBLEMS with them!!":shake::eek::help:
I want to say ditch it for a Marauder so another one can have a decent home, but at the same time I think later on you'll wish you kept the CV. How long you had it for?
I'm gonna vote fix it with the abundance of parts around to put it back together, and with the upcoming expenses coming, it'd be best to keep as much cash on you for incidentals.
BTW good luck with the wedding, keep it small and intimate, save your cash for the Honeymoon. But also remember, its HER day. She'll either thank you in the long term or hold it against you other wise.

One thing that I have learned about weddings, my own included is to take the best man/matron of honor and fly to Mexico and get it done on a beach there. Saves money, time, hassle and it is a romantic, intimate and beautiful wedding. That is what my wife and I wished that we had done. Or you can do what she wants and develop a drinking habit.
Get a Marauder no before you have kids.

*UPDATE*
"Park" doesn't exist on my column anymore. *sigh* and I found a bolt on the floorboard in the driver's footwell. It wasn't there last week. I need to figure out where the hell it came from because that might solve part of my problem.

I didnt even have to explain to my wife about my car fetish..... she knows its always gonna be there. There aint no "get it dont before the wedding" stuff around these parts.
Better give her the heads up.

Ok, good news is my car is back to normal. Problem in the transmission was really in the steering column. I lost a bolt, so when I moved my column shifter, it wasn't moving the cable. Also got the GMQ headliner in with the help of 03MMmonroe. I still need brakes, and I'm still suspicious of the engine, but it's behaving for now.
