had them on 2 Marauders I like them but you gotta get past the 1st 2,xxx miles and that irritating squek had my rotors turned aftter 2,xxx miles noise now gone! Other than that I like them. The Baer kit on my 1st MM was Modfied to fit from another Ford Veh by Kenny Brown Thay stopped even better than the ones made for the Marauder, and thery were I beleive 16 inch rotors. Overall Good Brakes but horrible tech support from Baer
I'm thinking about getting wilwoods this winter.

I like mine, they stop very well... don't have any complaints other than the rotors being expensive to replace. Pads are easy, just C5 corvette pads

You really need to try the SS lines first before going to such an expensive brake upgrade. The SS lines are a very good improvement over stock. After I put the lines on I saw no need to go for any other brake upgrade.

I have the SS lines from Todd at TCE but running 20" wheels really makes the stock rotors look pathetic. The added wheel weight does not help the cause out either. I know that the Wilwood's are very good brakes just a little over what I would like to spend... But I do appreciate the input Glenn.

THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST MAJOR MODS I PERFORMED ON MINE AND i HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. THE DIFFERENCE IN BRAKING DISTANCE IS PROFOUND. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE BAER PADS SQUEAKING AT TIMES AND PERIODIC BRAKE VIBRATION DUE TO PAD TRANSFER BUT OVERALL A DEFINITE "DO". I AM PREPARING TO RELINE THEM USING NAPA CERAM-X PADS AND WILL POST MY OPINION ON THESE AFTER A LITTLE SEAT TIME.

Got a really good price on Baers from Never Enough Auto Parts (More expensive now), and installed beleive it or not Advance Auto Pads per the recomendation of Scott Levine the famous Master Tech @ Team Toyland.
Stops like I need it to, when I need it to:D Scott recomends the Advance pads because they work good in all temp ranges, don't squeak, and throw minimal dust.
Contrary to my good friend and fellow Southern Marauder Glenn, I think these are must haves as the stock brakes in my mind are the real weak spot in our cars. Also keep in mind that you will need some plugs if ya go stainless lines on the the Baer setup. I bought the SS lines but don't have the plugs so for now its stock lines for me. Saved my butt more that once as far as accident avoidence, and taxation:eek: if ya know what I mean:burnout:

Correct^^ there my friend---I too have these beauties , and I just had mine turned after 27K miles--just perfect again and no squeeks and still on same pads---I do have the new ones( C-5) if I need them---but back to perfect for now----mine were the same till I got them turned--try that first--
I think I could live with that...Thanks for the info.

I must agreed with you --I don't understand Glenns point--the brake lines on mine are stil stock--all else are the Baers--I cannot believe he is still using stock brakes--is that what he is meaning??--just the brake lines in SS form?--
Like you-- I think an up grade is needed ---time will tell--

They are a good kit but normally it is a six week wait. KVR also makes a kit but I would not recommend them, the wait is just as long if not longer and there customer service has diminished.
Dennis Hot Rodder has a big brake kit on the rear, and it looks great, just remember larger brakes mean more rotational mass, and those that are looking for the ultimate ET, this does have a effect.

Thanks for the info Dennis, Im not too concerned about the wait as it will be one of the winter/spring projects for this upcoming year. I would really like the Wilwood kit because it looks amazing on Scott (ForthHorsemans) Marauder but the price is the no go factor. I want to have my car supercharged by next spring as well so I need to lean towards funtion over form.
I bet the big brake kit looks awesome on the rear but in my case that is way too far out of reach. I was hoping someone made a kit like many had done for the SHO's and made the correct brackets etc to move the stock front rotors, calipers and new lines to run to the rear. With so little brake force being applied to the rear it really isnt an issue but like I had said before with the 20's on the car the stock rotors look like crap. Thank you for the info.

Dennis..... You are referring to the other Dennis's Willwoods Front & Rear set up yes?
I looked at that too....... my reasoning for going with the Baer setup..
1. Price (I'll admit it)..... I saved around $400 vs. the Willwood front setup. Everyone I know who has Willwoods thinks they are worth it, and probably are. I won't say anymore than that since my experience is purely stock then Baer....
2. I made a decsion to go with more brake swept area vs. more pistons on smaller rotors..... Baers are 14", and Willwoods are mid 13's up front. While the Baer technology may be a little older vs a 6 piston monoblock setup, it stops. Period. So I knew it would work for my driving style.
You make a point about rotational mass which is valid, but in reality with the Baers, the rotor weight difference are not enough difference to skew performance(JMHO) vs. stock rotors anyway (May be some lighter offerings out there, but does lighter mean better?) I don't want flimsy rotors underneath me when I'm rollin:D. They are pretty close. With regards to weight though the Baer calipers are significantly lighter than the stock setup.
Again just my 2 cents. No controversy or drama, and I don't own stock in Baer.... I do in Ford tho:banana2:

If your not auto cross driving are big brakes worth the money. Some will agree some will disagree. Just another alternative for a improved brake set up for less coin. Different pads make a huge dif try the Hawk HPS pads in all four corners with stainless steel brake lines. You will be very amazed at the improvement in braking power.

Hey Burt- I guess the Q is, "Do you want your car to stop like a high dollar European Sedan"???
If yes? Then either Baers or Willwoods are essential to make that happen.
If an occasional panic stop is all you require, then stock may be fine (or somewhere in the middle).
Down here in GA, I can run all day long in the 90's as long as there are'nt traffic jams. Stockers just don't offer what I require. I believe, if you go fast, ya gotta stop fast, and you cannot be worried if your parts are gonna do the job.:burnout:
Again, thats just me. Good luck with whatever you guys decide.

Has Baer fixed the cracking rotors? I recall their drilled and slotted rotors were having stress crack issues around the drilled areas after heat cycling.
Not to poop on a Baer thread but a brake upgrade is going to be in my future at some point and if I did it today I would see Todd at TCE. I think the Wilwood solution is superior, better caliper and I hear less rotor complaints. This could be me being ignorant but I think the Baer kit is using a floating caliper but the Wilwoods are a fixed 6 piston, a bit more high performance.

:burnout:Bread- I know alot of people think similar to you. And you guys are probably not wrong with your thought process.
That said I have slotted rotors on my Baer setup, and they have never cracked. Even after being in a complete total on my 1st Marauder........ Just had Scott Levine @ Team Toyland turn them, roughed up the original pads and installed. They work great (I think they are better on the Banshee, then they were on my black Marauder..... maybe its the color?? :D Black being heavier and all:P)
I have hauled my car down from very high speeds (in Mexico) repeatidly with no issues.
I know the technology of the floating caliper may not be bleeding edge, but it does work well. And if you you can purchase the kit for under $1300.00 to your door (I think mine might have been less...I for get the exact price) its a steal considering the stopping power you will have.
Good luck whatever you choose. I don't think its a loosing situation either way. Its what our cars need. I am convinced of that:burnout:

The rotor cracking issue is less about brand and more about design. There's no guarantee of durability on any drilled rotor....in time; it's going to develop cracks.
The only limitation to fitting a 14" Wilwood kit to the car remains your wheels. The two pot PBR has the upper hand there given it has no pistons or body to speak of on the outer half. The fixed mount six pot requires more spoke clearance, something lacking in this wheel....to the point of the required (supplied) .065" spacer supplied for the 13" kit.

I have been very pleased w/my 14" Baer Eradispeed. Like a previous post, mine has lasted longer than my first Marauder. I had some minor vibration issues with the original pads due to pad transfer. I have been running the NAPA Adaptive One pads for about six months and while they don't stop quite as good as the Baer pads, I have not had any vibration issues and they are very low dusting. I paid about $1600 for my kit back in 2003.

I know that they are called Performance Friction semi metallic pads, and yes they are the same size as what is called for as replacement for the C-5 series Corvettes.
Find em at Autozone..... not Advance Auto (I always confuse the 2)
I think the part #'s are:
0731-20 for the fronts
0932-20 for rears. (these are for our OEM rotors...Not the Vette rears)
These are spec for a C-5 and a Z06. Hope it works out for you.

The bear kit is a very good kit, the going rate for the complete front kit with lines is about 1495.00 with about a six week wait. Will wood is also a good kit, IMHP a larger kit in the rear is not needed unless your making mega power, so a good gas slotted dimpled rotor works out fine with SS lines in the rear also, Steve is doing a Marauder now with a less expensive kit I will post some pictures.

No they do not come with SS lines, so if you want them you'd have to buy different lines. That being said, you don't NEED SS lines. I didn't have em for the first few years, and honestly after putting them on I'd say the difference in pedal feel was rather minimal.
