Crown Vic Taillamps

Forgive me if someone has already asked this, but do the Crown Vic taillamps with the amber turn indicator fit in the Marauder taillamp openings? If so, has anyone made the switch and how involved is the wiring?

From what I know, yes, since I have seen people put the tinted Marauder Tail lights and rear facia on their CV's. The wiring is very involved, the amber lenses are four bulb lenses where as they stopped doing that in 00' or 01' and converted to two bulbs instead.

Amber Lights:
- Two bulbs on top for the red area
- Two bulbs on bottom for the amber area

Newer:
- One bulb on the left, one on the right

I figured there would be some interesting wiring to figure out because I was in the process of making the swap to '01 amber turn indicator Cobra taillamps for my GT but I sold the car. If I could pick up some new mating connectors for the taillamp harnesses I believe I could make the switch without splicing into the factory harness. The thing that was giving me some trouble was figuring out the blinker interrupt.

Not to contradict Rider90, but the 2000+ CV taillights are 4bulb ( like the Marauder ) and are plug-and-play; meaning: no wiring changes necessary.

To get the version with the lower black trim and amber turnsignal lenses, you would need the CV LX Sport taillights -

1W7Z-13405-AAA ( left )

gdmjoe-I saw a red-guessing Dark Toreador-sport Crown Vic with the amber turn indicators and the lamps had body colored trim at the bottom. I'm hoping that since I saw that car, the amber turn taillamps are available w/Silver Birch trim. Thanks for the part numbers.

You are correct ... the body colored trim for the CV LX Sport is "Silver frost".

Oh...maybe you're right. All I know is that the 2001 Tail Lights I installed were two bulb and I had to drill out holes for the other two bulbs.

MM tail lights have 2 bulbs on each side, not 4.

My bad / mis' :(

The 2bulb CV taillights IIRC are cop whereas the 4bulb are civi', in which case you're then limited to black | chrome trim, and (re)wiring would then be involved :confused:
