I beleive that NBC Shooter has done that already, but he hasn't covered up the holes. There's just no way you can.

I am in the process.

About $500 to cover holes and paint trunk.

I copy and pasted an earlier post I wrote . . .

"But the REAR badge . . . the darn thing just didn't want to come off! Solution: followed TAF's procedure above [TAF's procedure included using a thin plastic card or plastic putty knife to work around the outside of the badge], then stuck wooden clothespin halfs between the body and the badge--wedging the gap open with a flathead screwdriver w/plastic card underneath, then sliding clothespin half in gap. I wedged eight clothespin halfs around the emblem and lightly tapped each with a hammer until the emblem raised off the body about one-quarter of an inch all the way around, then pulled off with fingers . . . and voila! (I think body shops use heat guns to soften up the adhesive first, but don't quote me on this.) This took a fair amount of effort, but I think it was definitely worth it.

Another tip: I applied white paper tape (or any other thin paper tape) all around the emblem before I started using the plastic card (plastic WILL scratch your finish). I only have a few small microscratches where I first used the card WITHOUT first applying the tape.

Now I'm quite happy with the badgeless rear--MUCH more stealthy!

Now the holes . . ."

I plugged the holes with some parts from Pep Boys' "HELP" section. Someone put a Ford 100 Anniversary badge to cover up the holes--looked quite nice. After reading Directedby's pricey post, I may do the same!

TAF: Thanks for pointing that out to me! I thought of NBC Shooter's earlier pics when I was replying. My bad!
