Hey all,

I am towing the Marauder to the speed-shop this weekend to get the motor pulled and heads and intake sent off to MMR and Nazty Performance:banana: The only thing is I am going to have to wait 3-4 weeks to get it back. It takes 2 weeks for the heads (P&P) to be installed on the short block (MMR will assembly short block into long block) and 3 weeks for the PSRI:mad2:

Oh well.

Good luck on the 3-4 weeks. Most performance machine shops take at least double the time they tell you in the estimate/quote.

Yeah.....my problem is not going to be the speed shop; its going to b MMR with the Ported heads/long block assembly then shipping and Nazty Performance well he says 3 weeks min. So mentally yeah I know.

I did see that thread....so I will have to get some assurances from Carlos. I don't think the speed shop will appreciate that too much. Thanks for the heads up Blackened.

If the intake gets delayed, you could just put in a stock one and drive the car to get some miles on her so she can be dynoed.

Good luck!!!

good luck with the build. I hope for a speedy recovery. I am 4 months into a 2 week turbo install and while the last month made me have to up my blood pressure meds, the ride has been worth it or at the very least an experience.

Some pics/vid of the trip over to the speed shop. Seen three Cobras (one getting a turbo) , a S197 GT getting a glass roof (nice) and a 2004 Corvette Lemans edition with translucent roof. There was Saleen there as well with a SC/Shaker Hood setup (NICE). Funny thing was when Saleen installed the shaker hood HE LOST 20RWHP! So hes there to get it dialed in with a custom tune.

Update:

Monday:
I get a call from Elliott and the PRW SFI 8 Bolt Flex Plate that MMR said will fit didnt fit flush.....so I had Elliott pull it and send it back to MMR...I had to source a FRPP 8 Bolt Flex Plate (FRPP M-6375-H46) that's used to do Cobra AOD conversions. Problem was only found 2 suppliers in the country the rest were on back order (discontinued). Luckily Blue Oval Chips had 2 in stock (one he's keeping for his conversion) so I had Lonnie next day air it. We chatted about an 800rwhp+ Marauder (Vortech JT Trim) thats eating belts (6-rib) that he has in his shop. Earlier in the day was reading a thread on MM.net about this very same project! LOL.

Tuesday:
Get the UPS Tracking number check shipping status and was received at 9:52A! Email Elliott his response "Worked like a charm... PERFECT!!!". Needless to say I cant wait to get the beast back!

Hope you guys liked the play by play....lol

So its in bolted up and ready to get the base tune.....stay tuned.

Cheers!

Sorry, it's been a long time. Maybe it's discontinued? They were the only place I could find an 8-bolt SFI approved flexplate. Several other places had 8-bolt flexplates but they didn't have the SFI sticker.

Give them a call. MMR uses them for there Cobra to AOD conversions. I didnt have patients to fiddle faddle with the %^ thing so I had them ship it back. But according to Lonnie (Blue Oval Chips) aftermarket is your best bet.

Cool. No front cover or cam covers eh? Did mmr port match the stock logs? Windage tray is sweet too! Good for 15hp they say.

For shame you/they didn't paint the front cover! You also seem to need a JLT oil seperator - those are cheap. How did mmr tell you to seat the rings?

Btw I'm jealous!

sloshing up from what? and from where? with 6 quarts in the pan the oil is waaaaay down there... anyone remember the pics of the oil pan where 6qts was like nothing in our pans? And our crank is tucked up in the block, it's not like a small block chevy or whatever else where the crank hangs into the pan... further we have massive heads which hold a good bit of oil while running...
Windage tray keeping the oil in the proper place and keeping it from getting frothy... ok. But a 15hp gain...

YEAH - 15 on stock more on modified engines..

Here is what MMR has to say about it, I respect and trust their opinion. They really seem to know what they are doing with modulars.

MMR Oil pan windage tray for 96-08 GT
The MMR windage tray keeps oil in the pan where it belongs, Replace the useless factory 1/2 length windage tray with a full length and see gains of up to 15HP on stock engines, even more gains on modified engines, The unique screen allows oil to quickly return to the pan but keeps oil from splashing on the crankshaft and rods which decreases drag and increases horsepower, easy bolt on,r equires no modifications, includes all hardware and easy to follow instructions. Works with stock and MMR oil pans.
http://www.modularmustangracing.com/windage.jpg

I'd install one - however I don't like the idea of jacking up engine, mounts, wiper cowl, bit PITA. I'd probably mess something up.

Hey all just got it home today and 9 weeks is painful! But boy does she look purdy....its waxed and looking mean..LOL

Ok, first impressions are w/o really getting into it where wow. Off the line I can now spin he rears w/o loading it up. On the freeway I can really feel the RPMs build/pull and there's weird a bit of a menacing howl (in a good way) maybe the ported intake, spacer?..dunno....I cant lie I did get on it a few times (under 5k) and I really like the new added cubes/torque its very addicting:D I cant wait for the break in miles to be done so I can see what this bad boy could do!

Anyway, I got back into town and took it to the smog station today. I was a bit nervous because there was a guy there who just dropped in a 1.8L (was 1.6L) Acura motor into his Civic and failed the sniffer test multiple times. He had ported heads, cams etc..a mild setup he says. I we sat there talking about his build and motor and vice versa when the smog guy says to me were GOOD I passed smog! That made my freakin day! BTW, as I was leaving the guy in the Civic didnt pass..poor guy I almost told him to buy a Mustang and be done with it but it was obvious he put a lot into the car I could get my self to say it..LOL

Ok now the bad news...it is a base tune for the break in period but OMG the dreaded factory shift points are back! Oh how I hate the factory shift points, and the infamous gear hunt....ugh. I asked Lidio if it was possible to have him send his tune for the shift points and no....argh. I will have to have the installer build up a new tune from scratch which bites because Lidio's trans tune was awesome!

Anyhow pics and video to follow!

Cheers!

Money! I wanted to do shorty headers and 2.5 exhaust but I went over budget with the Heads/Cams/Intake $$

My next mod will be the transmission, torque converter then the shorty headers and exhaust. Then suspension upgrade, then rear end rebuild with 4.10s then DR Vortech then.....big brakes wildwoods...it just never ends:confused:
