I have had this truck for 25 yeaqrs and its time to get it done! Its a 52 F1 and besides the Blown Flathead it has a Mercury stroker in it. Its also 281 cubic inches. A 5 speed from a S 10 pickup. We are putting it all together for the last time now. After this it goes for paint. Spring I hope!

Rex no SC for the boat, just to 496 gas guzzlers instead!

Hey John!...they make valve covers for small block Chevy's that will bolt on and make them look like a Flathead. Then you would have modern V8 power for that old boat-anchor engine! Then get a 350 Turbo-trans for it!

They are not a lot of power guys. I would say around 260 HP. The rods in it are not very big. Dale how about you finding us a picture of a Flathead with Ardun heads?:D

Ardun heads:

http://www.ardun.com/ardun_pictures.htm

Modern performance flatheads

Ford flatheads are still hot rodded (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_rod) today, with a special land speed record (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_speed_record)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Flathead_engine#cite_note-1) Note that the car broke 300 mph (480 km/h) but did not set a record. You have to make two passes in order to have a record. The current record holder achieves 700 hp (525 kW) and 300 mph (483 km/h).
