Have you ever wanted to detune your car so when you give it to some car-jockey they can’t go above 30 miles an hour and do smokey burnouts? How about giving it to a family member or friend? Well with over 450 horse I worried about it, and I worried a lot. Kenny and friends were able to provide me with a Valet switch that prevents this. The way it works is this. The Computer is flashed with the performance program, allowing ME to drive with full performance, there are two other settings that can be programmed by simply throwing a toggle switch. One is for valets, this limits the speed a valet can drive to true parking lot speeds, and detunes the heck out of the car. The other setting is for family and friends, this limits the driver to only 80- mile an hour and detune the car to 60% of the full program. Now I know someone can still beat the snot out of a car, even with 60% power, but I feel a lot better knowing that they don’t have the full capabilities on hand to get in trouble with.

It is my understanding that this type of a set up can be used on almost any car, not just supercharged ones. I for one think this set up rocks.

Yep, they're just using a flip-chip to switch PCM programs... Any tuner including Dennis can offer the same functionality.

I understand this is more than one program to get these results. But would it be like buying 2 or three tunes, chips, or flashes.
I also think it could give you guys better mileage for a second until ya'll turn it off.

FYI, Kenny Brown has been going through some major health issues and his shop was shut down so he could concentrate on getting well. One of the nicest guys in the racing/street car builder category (don't call him a tuner, he is much better than that), he is doing better and he and his wife are making plans to attend more events this coming year (2008) and re-opening the online and actual shop.

Kenny is a super nice guy that talked to a convention I put on for the SHO in 2005 right during the middle of his troubles. I know this thread is old, but thankfully Kenny is still with us, and soon everyone with fast Fords/Mercurys may be able to get his help again, he is superb with suspensions as well as engines.

I worked with Kenny and Cari during our Marauderville 2 event in Indy in 2004. Kenny and Cari generously offered to host a BBQ at their Gasoline Alley business. I'm sure it was a difficult decision to close down the business but his health had to come first. We continue to wish Kenny, Cari and Kenny Brown Motorsports good health and a bright future.
