Took the MM for new tires today..got four BFG's installed. The place that put them on marked up 2 of my wheels:mad2:. Discounted the tires another 75 bucks and told me they would refinish the wheels for me if I decide I want to go that route. Got that in writing too.. Its a shame because the guys came highly recommended and were very nice. Just seems to be my luck..I paid a total of $645 for 4 new tires when it was all said and done. The marks on the wheels are barely noticable, but I know they are there...frustrating!

BTW.. the tires that came off were the originals..VERY dry rotted and worn..they had 24994 miles on them..very hard,..car rides like new again. I didnt realize how hard they were until I pulled away from the tire shop today with the new ones. much better now...even tho they are the BFG's

make them refinish them. I have had 2 wheels refinished and two replaced on different cars, because I don't tolerate shops damaging my stuff and I won't stop making phone calls to corporate headquarters for companies if the mangament won't deal with me locally. This is why I bought my own tire machines, just my luck whenever I would bring a car with really nice wheels in for tire work, those are the ones that would get cobbled up.

Dealer screwed mine up, so they bought me 2 new rims. They learned an EXPENSIVE lesson. Because of the core charge, rims list for 1200 each. I would make them replace them.

Had 2 wheels messed up from a dealer that i worked for. My 2002 mustang had the directional tires facing the wrong way from the factory. When they went to change them around, they royally f'd up two rims..they replaced them and gave me the f'd up ones back to me( I still have them actually). About 6 months ago, my wifey's avalon got all 4 wheels scratched badly and that place was a goodyear shop that wasnt affiliated with goodyear, just flew the sign. Corporate couldnt do anything for me and they had a sign in the shop stating they werent responsible for damage caused to wheels while replacing tires...:mad2:Luckily they discounted the tires but still didn't make me satisfied. He told me to take what he offered or he would refer to his sign and I would get nothing..and he was the owner. :shake: I will never go there again for sure!!

That does not sound accurate, about the core or the price:confused:

If it is a franchise, you don't have to listen to the owner. Call corporate headquarters, this has always worked for me. If you make noise with corporate's consumer relations dept., you will get results. I always give the local manager the option to make things right first but if they tell me to get lost, all bets are off. That's the advantage to using a chain sometimes, is that you will have the overall company looking out for you if you wind up with a particular location that doesn't care about you as a customer. Consumer relations for the company, does not want any customers bad mouthing the company as a whole because some schmo that manages one of their stores won't make things right.

And a lot of shops have a disclaimer that they are not responsible for damage, but that is BS and you don't have to accept as a fact.
