light engine knock

Have a 03 MM with 250k on it, runs great I actually bought the car 3 weeks ago from a lil o'l lady lol she took great care of the car changed the oil at the dealership every 5000k but I noticed when the engine is warm I can hear a bit of a hollow tap/ knock comming mainly from the wheel wells, i did have a 05 crown vic with less then 20k on the clock that did the same thing (just a little quieter) i wondering how many of you guys have the same issue, I talked to the dealership about the issue on the crown vic years ago and they advised me that thats a common knock and ford will not fix it it will last forever with it like that and not to worry about it. :bs:

250K wow.....start looking at a OEM reman $4200 at the dealer plus 2k for R&R. Good luck.

The 4V Marauder will Probably last longer than the 2V C-Vic/GMQ .

sounds like a wrist pin, happened to my 52k MM. Dealer told me the same thing- it will last forever. Raised enough hell, ford put a reman in at no cost:D

Could be fuel injectors...they give off a fairly loud clicking noise??:confused:

250 k not miles, the engine is good, uses no oil after 5000k the oil still looks good, the light knock stops when you rev it up a bit, just at low idle it does it.

my 2000 f150 5.4 has 360k on it origional allmost every thing engine tranny front end etc. and it still runs like a champ.
